Our Girl Thread 61 "Our Girl, Soldier Soldier and The Musketeers Revisited"

We started to follow "Our Girl" back in 2014 and although there will be no further series, we do revisit from time to time. We have watched all seven series of "Soldier Soldier" to keep up our military terminology and have almost finished the first series of "The Musketeers". Of course, there is a definite connection between "Our Girl" and "The Musketeers" in the delightful form of Luke Pasqualino. We will start on series 2 very soon.

ooh Constance looks a bit smarter now. She has the Queenie collar as well.

Oh dear, what a poor choice of appointment. Hope he gets his hair cut and has a shave.

D'Art has found a new flame. Can't blame him but of course, Constance has just witnessed it.

Constance tells him how it is for women and she is right, of course. He was asking too much.

Aramis gets a message from the Cardinal. Very strange and taking place on a creepy night in a thunder storm.

I'm lost. Who is Adele?

Aramis learns that his former love Adele is dead. What a cruel message. That's a threat to Aramis too. What else did the Cardinal know.

The woman Aramis was with at the start of ep1series1.

Adele was killed right at the start of episode 1 ilove. She was involved with both Aramis and the Cardinal and in the end he killed her, but Aramis thought she had just gone away.

Ah thanks for that. I'd forgotten about her. In fact, I found the first few episodes quite confusing!

So Rochefort inherits the shiny floor.

So Rochefort is the traitor in the camp. He is working for Spain. How long before the Musketeers find that out?

Well, there was a lot going on in there and lots of seeds for the future planted. Didn't follow it all, but enough to see plenty of escapades for our heroic quartet.

Sorry to hear about your holiday and your friend's mother being so ill ilove. Hope there's some better news soon.

It couldn't be helped Rhu. I am seeing my friend tomorrow so might hear of some improvement but to be honest, I doubt it. Given her age and other health issues, the family are expecting the worst.

It was good - a draughty outdoor Edinburgh Festival performance.

Next Tuesday is good.

I thought the Festival had been cancelled for this year eejit? Is it a scaled down version?

I've watched all the seasons of Musketeers numerous times as well as having read far too much fanfic on the subject, but a watchalong with you guys looks like great fun.

Hi Alanna. I echo what Rhu has said (or "Ditto" in Our Girl parlance).

You've given us lots of food for thought with those programmes to watch. We'll still be at it when we're old and in our bathchairs!

Feel free to join us by all means. I'm a novice at the Musketeers DVDs. It was very different than our OG watchalongs as I knew the dialogue off by heart.

Evening all. Are we ready for episode 2 tonight?

I've been thinking a lot about OG the past few days in the light of the news. I keep remembering that scene where Molly asks CJ what's going to happen when the military forces leave and that weird bit in the last series when Prof goes through the troubled history of the country. It all seems quite relevant at the moment , especially when the question is being asked about the point of it all. Certainly food for thought.

Funny you should say that,Rhu, I heard a discussion where someone said that, after so many years of war, Afghanistan was awash with weapons, and found myself thinking , yes, well we know where they got some, because weren’t some abandoned in the last series? Also, heard Johnny Mercer, the MP and ex-minister, who fought there, refer to ‘Afghan’.
