I loved it, the best thing I have seen for ages. It reminded me a bit of the early series of Desperate Housewives. I could not find any info about a second series.

Finished it now. Very good.

So glad I clicked on this thread. Almost didn't, because I thought it was about one of those godawful true crime documentaries. Just started it and it looks very promising

HmmmmmmInteresting · 03/07/2021 01:12

Is it me, or does the second husband (I'm on S1ep1) sound like Stephen Mangan?

paniniswapx3 · 04/07/2021 14:15

I've just finished season 1 - loved it! The costumes were lush and everyone was great in it!

I also don't understand why it's not been advertised or promoted more in the UK? I only watched it because of this thread and loving DH and DM so thought I'd give it a go! Glad I did!

Blueskytoday06 · 04/07/2021 14:27

Yes!!!! Absolutely loved it. Best thing I watched in a long time.

Hopefully second season coming soon.

Name99 · 04/07/2021 20:35

I'm watching too, glad I read this as I thought it was a true crime documentary as well.

Muscaria · 04/07/2021 20:50

I wonder what happened to the lovely neighbour Sheila and whether Beth-Ann and April achieved their dream jobs.
Did anyone watch desperate housewives by the same person? Is it worth watching?

paniniswapx3 · 04/07/2021 22:40

Desperate Housewives is fab!

April definitely achieved her dream as that's why Beth Ann was selling the house so they could move to support April's job. Beth Ann didn't become a pianist, however I'd say she achieved her dream by having April's daughter in her life.

Desperate housewives was my all time favourite tv series at the time. It was made a few years ago but I'm sure it will stand the test of time.

You will notice the similarities, in fact one or two characters are very similar. It has the same combination of glamour, humour and observation.

Muscaria · 05/07/2021 09:45

Thanks. I've ordered a 2nd hand box set of dvds as cheaper than streaming. Shame it's not set in the 60s like the Beth Ann story.
I was thinking of other films and series I've liked that were set in different time periods. As well as The Hours there was Marchlands made in about 2011 set in the 60s, 80s and present day. Loved that.

Thanks I missed that. Must have not been concentrating properly

There's a free UKTV app if you haven't got Sky Wink

It was when she was selling the house - she explained why to Simone (as well as cheerfully telling her where her husband had died & that the murderer was executed a few years ago!).

I couldn't warm to the throuple: Taylor treated her husband appallingly. Loved the other storylines. Beth-Ann was my favourite character.
JacquelineCarlyle · 19/07/2021 09:38

I enjoyed it all! Look forward to season 2!

HmmmmmmInteresting · 18/08/2021 10:23

Season 2 is awesome. I love the woman who plays the main character. Great actress.

CatMandarin · 11/09/2021 09:29

Really enjoying series 2. It's such a high quality drama series that it really stands out from a lot of the other stuff that's on. Series 1 was brilliant too.
