A thread for those watching Season 4 of the Handmaid's Tale on Channel 4 starting this evening. There's another thread for those who have already streamed it via Hulu, so it would be good if we could keep this one free of spoilers for episodes beyond those Channel 4 has broadcast.

Aunt Lydia's touch on June's shoulder! There was definite feeling there.

Why would they have Hannah in a glass box? makes no sense. And why would she be happily sitting there playing with a doll instead of crying to get out?

He’s a total caricature though. Not a believable character like everyone else.

Plus, that’s not Hannah! Looks nothing like younger Hannah!

why didnt June get out while she had the chance and fight for her daughter and the demise of G from Canada,she surely would stand a much better chance of achieving that

How old was Hannah whey they were captured?

I seem to remember 5/6?

And that she would have some memory of June?

I really don’t know where this is going, but feel like I’m too invested & need to see the season through.

That is Hannah, it's been 3 years since they last filmed with her so the girl has grown up a lot, but it's definitely her.

It feels like they’re going for big imagery (the glass box) to emulate season 1, but they’re very wide of the mark. It needs to make sense. And the singing of “heaven is a place on earth” to invoke the nostalgia of the previous season is lazy.

Well I imagine if June hadn't told them where the handmaids were she's have been made to witness then torturing Hannah...hence the glass box

I feel rather pleased with myself for figuring out they'd use Hannah to get to June, but, I didn't think they'd do the torture stuff.

It makes me feel ill. It doesn't add to the plot.

Yep I agree it is the same actress.

Whoever the ‘parents’ of Hannah are would be unlikely to be totally without any power to stop her being tortured
