Much of America doesn't have the strict (nonsensical) restrictions that we are still subject to in the UK. Florida and Texas have been open for months and are basically back to normal with festivals and large scale events. It's only here that the government and some people are still living in fear

The Delta variant hasn't taken off there yet so they are getting away with it for now.

Cases have been falling there for a while.

Unlike here where they are increasing exponentially.

Not all states even wore masks in the first place.

Double vaccine releases you from any restrictions in the US.

Everyone over 12 can get vaccinated if they choose. Walk in appointments available at drug stores and supermarkets. Only a 3 week wait between shots.
CDC guidance is that fully vaccinated people don't need a mask indoors.
In my experience (in Florida) folk who are anti vax are also anti mask so mask wearing is declining fast.
In Florida (and some other states) it is illegal to treat customers differently based on their vaccine status.
I do wonder what will happen if the delta variant takes hold. But America is very much about personal responsibility.

Nope, you're seeing how it is in many places in the US now. Many people are not willing to put up with the restrictions anymore even with all these variants because there will always be variants.

If you are talking about the series that was on ITV this morning it's an old one, series three. They filmed it before the pandemic hit (just!) and broadcast it from February 2020. I have a Masked Singer expert in the house
