DP and I love a subtitled thriller but the last couple of things we've tried on Walter Presents have been a bit meh. I want something that makes me go 'wow'.
Have heard so much about this programme, great reviews, people love it etc. Never seen it. I know there's about a hundred seasons. Is it worth taking the plunge and starting it?

I wish people would stop with hysterical punctuation on this site. In what circumstances is '???????????????????' ever necessary? Any point you are trying to make is drowned out by your hysterical shrieking.

stumbledin · 15/06/2021 16:51

Nice deflect from the actual point. Its a shame that on mumsnet there is a small self appointed group who seem to think they are entitled to tell other what they should or should say, and how they should say it.

???????????????????? = totally baffled that anyone could think like that. A cool a rational reaction, in no way hysterical.

IntermittentParps · 15/06/2021 17:34

midsomer, much of MN isn't 'necessary', including this thread, and I say that as the OP Grin
Personally I love people's idiosyncratic takes on punctuation (and I say that as an editorial professional...!)

Thought it was very average and over hyped.

@stumbledin I haven't gone past season 1 yet.
I know from my sister that the later seasons were v popular in France so will get round to watching them at some point. To be honest I have not loved many French shows.
I am not sure why but I tend to find them a bit unconvincing.

The exceptions are Call My Agent- not only is it fun but the guests stars are the cream of the crop of French celebs and it is hilarious to watch them play silly versions of themselves.
And Les Revenants. It was dreamy and weird and had a soundtrack by Mogwai. Can't get any better. Grin

I couldn't get past the first body in the first rpisode. It was too much for me and had to put it off. I wanted to like it because I love the Bridge, the Killing etc.

ShallWeStartTheMeeting · 15/06/2021 22:24

That was really jarring.
The way they kept talking about how beautiful she must have been... it was very off.

CimCardashian · 15/06/2021 23:35

The characters are great. I would recommend it,pretty different in style to the Scandi stuff tho.

BIWI · 16/06/2021 08:55

Keep going with it! Honestly, it gets better and better - especially as the characters' stories start to unfold/develop.

LightasaBreeze · 16/06/2021 08:59

I'm on series 2 now, we are away in caravan and I watched series one at home and downloaded series 2-4 to watch when DH is watching football on telly in evening. Enjoying it.

lazymum99 · 18/06/2021 09:28

I thought Spiral was brilliant. Binged all 8 seasons in a couple of months during lockdown.
After some of you recommended Witnesses and I Know Who You Are, I tried to find them and can only get them on Amazon if I pay. I have Prime. Can I find these to watch for free anywhere?

DoubleTweenQueen · 18/06/2021 11:30

@LightasaBreeze At least you’re not in a tent! (I’m presuming you’re in the UK?)
You’ll be up to season 4 by the time you get back home! :D

(Truly though, sorry about the rubbish weather)

LightasaBreeze · 18/06/2021 21:38

Yes I am in Peak District and very wet today, am now on series 3, good job I put this on iPad. Liked series one better than two but series three seems good
