I'm not any better at sewing than poetry as it happens.

Anyways, line for Patrick starts behind me.

Ha,ha ,me too, Sheldonesque, we could get together and form a primeval forest. All clothed on green to fit the Sewing Bee theme.

ContinuousMonotoneBeep · 28/05/2021 20:23
@SheldonesqueTheBstard 😂😂😂😂😂
I have little thin legs, so anything that glams them up, I wear. I also have a pair of red sequinned trousers that glimmer as I move....
😆
Feck knows who they are, but I stand by it I don't like them.

Cocolapew · 28/05/2021 20:24

A legs wax lady once gave me a discount!!
😂😂

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 28/05/2021 20:26

I have a feeling if I went to a wax lady there shouldn’t be enough wax in the world
are you sensing a theme?? 🤣

Bless. A discount.

I probably would get someone wondering where the teeth were..

Or if I wagged.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 28/05/2021 20:30

catey

I oft wonder if someone put a Bosnian shot-putter’s legs on me by mistake.

My ankles aren’t fat though. But the ankle joints look as though they would easily support a three door wardrobe.

randomsabreuse · 28/05/2021 20:41

I think Damien is good at making the made to measure fit a real person, while Rafe seems to find fitting the model tougher. The tweed "office party" dress looked like the best fit to the model.

Serena doesn't seem to do "fitted" as her preferred style, preferring more edgy structural stuff.

I'd like to see Faroe, Serena and Rafe as the final 3 although Rebecca might take advantage of Farie has another time disaster!

Maireas · 28/05/2021 20:43

@SheldonesqueTheBstard 😂😂😂😂
Well, we all sound quite challenging to dress!

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 28/05/2021 20:55

And there is your final task for the Bee right there. Grin

Make us all look thevbombdebombe and win. Simples.

That doesn’t mean making me look like Mr Susan.

Although it might be a start.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 29/05/2021 07:06

@iklboo

i think he's got way more criticism than any of the other contestants online because he's a blokey, straight, older man.

That couldn't be further from the truth if Boris Johnson had said it.

I'd have given GOTW to Serena's shirt personally.

I'd wear Rebecca's dress, I loved the colours. She had a lot of work to do as well, with all the overlaying of the fabric, and I would think she'd have had to do very neat seams in the sleeves. I do think her model would have looked more party-like in nude tights though.

I liked Rafe's dress, but didn't think it looked as good on his model as some of the others did. I understand why he'd altered the fit the way he did, but didn't think it looked very neat. I was surprised he won GOTW, but perhaps it was to justify keeping him after his rotten day?

I actually thought Andrew's transformation was very good, I could see somebody at a comicon or LARPing in it. Grin

CaptainMyCaptain · 29/05/2021 18:24

Rebecca's dress was lovely, exactly the sort of thing I'd wear.

Walkingtheplank · 29/05/2021 19:23

This is Amanda Holden or the other lady on Britain's Got Talent.

Referenced Golden Buzz and entertaining the nation.

Walkingtheplank · 29/05/2021 19:24

Oops wrong thread!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 29/05/2021 21:10

Where were you supposed to be Walking?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 29/05/2021 21:11

Oh, was it the Masked Dancer? I meant to have a look at that.

Walkingtheplank · 29/05/2021 23:50

Yes it was Masked Dancer - so double embarrassment for me!

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 30/05/2021 00:14

walking

I recorded it because I was at work.

I win the shame… Wink

lollipoprainbow · 31/05/2021 09:39

Is anyone else finding it a little dull this year? The contestants aren't as interesting and there haven't been any showstopping wow factor garments really. Other years have been more exciting, maybe they are running out of ideas !

SoupDragon · 31/05/2021 10:04

I will never find it dull 😂 It is comfort TV for me - I just love watching people being creative.

GlencoraP · 31/05/2021 11:18

I sometimes think it should be called the ‘dressmaking bee’. I wish they would venture outside of clothes, in the first or maybe second series they had to make loose covers which I think was a brilliant challenge . But what about a bit of quilting, curtain making etc . I also get frustrated when Esme goes on about creativity , it’s about sewing skill not design.

lollipoprainbow · 31/05/2021 12:12

@GlencoraP yes it always seems to be 'make a woman's garment' in whichever challenge !

Maireas · 31/05/2021 12:17

No, @lollipoprainbow, last time they made men's shirts. They make garments for men and women, also unisex.

lollipoprainbow · 31/05/2021 12:19

@Maireas I mean in the transform challenge

SoupDragon · 31/05/2021 12:36

Not always. They also have "any gender child" and men. I think women's clothing is easier for the transformation as there's so much variety so even when it's not specified they tend to opt for women.

I do think there are more women's clothes made - I suppose "made to measure" is perhaps more challenging for women's clothing (I remember the complaints on the thread last year when someone made a dress for his male partner because there were no breasts or hips to worry about).

terrywynne · 31/05/2021 16:58

I seem to remember that one season the transformation was about decorating a bag - embroidery that type of thing. I am not sure it is quite as exciting to watch though and embroidery skills are different from sewing clothes- I can embroider but not make clothes.
