I'm not any better at sewing than poetry as it happens.

Anyways, line for Patrick starts behind me.

They had a "hand sewing" challenge that involve a bag I thought
... Really early on when May was still a judge.

GlencoraP · 31/05/2021 17:12

Yes it was when Lauren from Guthrie and Ghani was on . I think it might have been that series which the furnishings as well . I just think that there are lots of other kinds of sewing as well as making clothes

CaptainMyCaptain · 01/06/2021 17:41

I'm watching series 1 now. They do a quick demonstration of, so far, a laundry bag and a cushion cover. It's very brief without much detail and the competitors don't do it. They do focus on more specific sewing skills, though.

Came on just to say I want Serena's pattern for her jumper!

( And also will miss Damien when he inevitably leaves, I find everything he says funny because of his accent).

I salute you @Captain Gin

knittingaddict · 02/06/2021 07:36

It's the Wool and Honey sweater by Andrea Mowry. Recognised it immediately. I will post a link later.

That one is crochet, not knitted. Serena's was definitely knitted and definitely the Andrea Mowry one. She does some beautiful designs.

CaptainMyCaptain · 02/06/2021 07:56

OK. I'm sure I've seen a knitted one on Ravelry I just did a very quick search.

This is the Wool and Honey one.

CaptainMyCaptain · 02/06/2021 08:00

4 ply wool in garter stitch - no wonder it took her so long!

knittingaddict · 02/06/2021 08:25

Yes that's the one.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 02/06/2021 09:17

I knitted a cardigan (well, to be completely accurate, about 3/4 of it) like that. Measuring it was so discouraging, you'd knit ten rows and the length would barely have changed!
NigellaSeed · 02/06/2021 09:51

Thank you. Can you buy it with a debit card when it's in $s?

NigellaSeed · 02/06/2021 10:05

I'm not the best knitter. I've done a couple of my DSs cardigans. And they weren't exactly human shaped. Am I being too ambitious? There's quite alot of time until winter though....

knittingaddict · 02/06/2021 10:05

I think it's paypal on Ravelry but I haven't looked for a while. I have my debit card linked to my paypal and it doesn't matter if it's in £ or $.

knittingaddict · 02/06/2021 10:14

That solves the issue of using paypal. I can highly recommend Ravelry though. It has reviews and knitters experiences of knitting a particular pattern. It's very helpful.

CaptainMyCaptain · 02/06/2021 10:58

@NigellaSeed

Yes it just gets converted. The last pattern I bought was in Euros.

Evening!

I watched Dirty Dancing again not that long ago. So much more filthy than I remember!

SoupDragon · 02/06/2021 21:02

I wish they wouldn't show so much before it starts!

Wolfcub · 02/06/2021 21:04

I agree Soup, they spoil it for me
