That's sad, not a father to look up to Confused

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/05/2021 16:11

Watched this programme this morning.

Loved the Sullivan's and the other couple with the 11(12) children. Both families seemed to have their heads screwed on and worked hard and budgeted well. The other family didn't come across very well and it doesn't surprise me to hear that they owe a lot of money. He seemed like a spoilt child who had to have whatever he wanted no matter how much it cost. Buying a pub in the middle of a pandemic when they have no experience and a lot of well established pubs are struggling.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/05/2021 16:36

And if can afford to buy a pub. He can pay their debts

FizzyPink · 17/05/2021 16:49

That’s what I don’t understand. How can someone like him keep buying businesses? How did he manage to fund opening a soft play while they were living in a caravan and had no money?! None of it makes any sense.

Why do these families always seem to use lots of ready made food? Surely making your own pasta sauce etc is cheeper? And boxes of sugary cereal is also bad economics. I'd definitely do alot of batch cooking from scratch if I had that many to cook for!

ArsenicNLace · 17/05/2021 17:07

Well it's the Seymours' company is about to be compulsorily dissolved and struck within the next two months. It's dated 11/5/21 so wonder if it's come about them being on the programme? Here

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/05/2021 17:07

@purpleme12

It must cost a bomb to rent that lovely house the rich people had

I was interested to know how many bedrooms each family had and how they all fitted in but they didn't go into that.
i still can't understand how they afford it all when i compare it to my income and my one child. i just can't understand it

@@purpleme12

The Sullivan family fit themselves into a standard four-bedroomed house, with Zoe and Ben in one room, the three boys in another, and the girls split by age in the last two.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/05/2021 17:16

Sad about their daughter haillie rose 💕

dragoncena · 17/05/2021 17:37

Can't remember the name but the family living on £100 per week food must be using MN chickens. Their diet must be inadequate.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/05/2021 17:56

Yes a weekly meal planner would be interesting

dragoncena · 17/05/2021 18:38

I suspect it involves copious amounts of white pasta with little else. In three separate clips they were eating pasta with just sauce.

IHaveBrilloHair · 17/05/2021 18:43

I watched it today and noticed the pasta and sauce too.
Nothing wrong with it as such and I can see how it feels substantial, and a hit meal, but its not really if its so often.
Given how small the budget was I can't see how there'd be much room for better meals.
Saying that, they did seem lovely.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/05/2021 19:11

We have pasta a few times a week but with meatballs or spag Bol or tuna Mayo etc

Knew I had heard of Sullivan's

But a different family - same surname but also large

They had lots of kids but got divorced

IHaveBrilloHair · 17/05/2021 19:16

I thought I'd heard the name before.
Wasn't there a large Scottish religious family who've done these types of shows before?

dragoncena · 17/05/2021 19:21

The other Sullivans are from Kent, they got divorced and don't seem religious anymore either.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/05/2021 19:28

That’s them @dragoncena

Live semi near me hence why name rang a bell

Mum home schooled

RevolvingPivot · 19/05/2021 16:34

I liked the youngest couple. Didn't like the eldest one. The wife was ok but the man, total idiot!!!

StrawberryLovingChild · 20/05/2021 10:10

I saw this.

The Sullivans have been on programmes like this before, I remember the RAF dad and one of the younger twins having an operation, it was before the youngest on this programme was born. I liked them before, the family seem close and everyone happy. I loved the trip to the wildlife park.

The "rich" family have also been on things before, the dad was just as much as a then as well. They'd just had the youngest the last time I saw them and even then he was on about wanting another 2 0r 3 children don't think they had the businesses. Madness to even try it in a pandemic and economic downturn and the wife/mum didn't look impressed at all by either the pub or the helicopter.

Sure both families where on a programme on channel 5, maybe 2-3 years ago.

I liked the other couple as well. They seemed to really know what they were doing although dad struggled for that one day a week.

jasminoide · 21/05/2021 16:34

I was cringing with mortification at the Sullivan's tiktok. They seem nice but stop trying to make money off the back of your family.
