the births of the boys are one of the things that make me want to do it again.I can't believe I'm never going to have such an exciting, mindblowing, experience ever again.

I had a CS with Ds, a strapped to the bed with DD1 (she was very premature) and with DD2 I was on all fours, DD2's birth was easier

God no Angeliz.
I am sure your bump is lovely

blossomhill · 01/11/2004 23:42

alexsmum/mieow - know what you are saying but it's the bit afterwards that hard isn't it?

Report
alexsmum · 01/11/2004 23:42

being upright helps yes.If you're lying down the baby is having to come out uphill if you see what I mean. If you are upright then gravity helps.

Report
wobblyknicks · 01/11/2004 23:43

I was on the bed on my knees facing the head of the bed - iykwim - so gravity helped and was far easier than I expected - can't understand people who insist on lying you down!!

oh yes, its the sleepless nights, the screaming, the feeding, NO I will not have another one, maybe in a few years..... when the kids are old enough to know how much hard work babies are, might put the girls off and I won't be on telly with my pregnant teenage daughters

blossomhill · 01/11/2004 23:44

It really makes sense but I think I jsut went with what the midwife told me to do. I am older and wiser now.
Both of my children are at school now and I enjoy having my time to do things for me. I wouldn't be ready to give it all up again - is that selfish?

Report
mieow · 01/11/2004 23:45

how old are you BH???

Report
alexsmum · 01/11/2004 23:45

I had both of them on all fours.I spent almost my entire labour standing up with ds2.I had 10 mins lying down to be monitored and the contractions slowed right down.As soon as I stood up again, they speeded back up.

no, its not selfish, enjoy the freedom!!!!

Report
blossomhill · 01/11/2004 23:47

I had them really close together so it was a hard first 3 years. Feel like I am getting back to being me really.

Report
alexsmum · 01/11/2004 23:48

god yes the afterwards bit.for me the struggle to b/f, the raging hormones, the unbelievable afterpains with ds2, and with hindsight the mild postnatal depression. But I would still like to do it again.dh is not having it thought!!!

Report
mieow · 01/11/2004 23:48

I think that is another reason I have a little voice shouting at me NO!, my youngest is 3 and will be at school in a year, and I will have so much freedom.

Report
blossomhill · 01/11/2004 23:49

My dh is the same. Adament and I do agree. It's just sometimes when I see babies I melt. What I would love to do is go back and do it all again with my 2. I am so much wiser now!

blossomhill · 01/11/2004 23:50

I couldn't go back to nappies now. No way

nappies don't bother me.for me the hardest thing is the organisation required. When it's just you, if you forget to go shopping, thenit's toast for tea.If you don't do the washing, then you wear dirty clothes. But you can't be like that with a baby.Evertything has to be done, and the baby has to be looked after as well.it's so exhausting. And the other thing for me is the worrying.I worry about my 2 ALL the time.
And this programme has given me something new to worry about!

Report
mieow · 01/11/2004 23:55

tell me about it alexsmum! I have two girls!! they better not come home at 14 and say they are pregnant, their boyfriends will be walking about as girls, when DH gets hold of them!!

Report
mieow · 01/11/2004 23:57

which is why I couldn't work out why the mother let the Bfs stay the night, those girls will be pregnant again soon
