@Sunbird24

Why did Jo confess to killing Ryan when Kate could have claimed the exact same reason?
Maybe she thinks she'll be safer in prison until Kate can get her cleared?
EsmaCannonball · 25/04/2021 22:03

So Kate's issued with a gun in case Ryan tries to kill her, Ryan tries to kill her and she shoots him. Why does that have to be covered up? My only guess is she's worried that she'll be framed for murder and then offed by the OCG in prison.

I think killing off Ryan was a mistake. He'd be a far more interesting interviewee than Jo.

Dogatetheleftovers · 25/04/2021 22:03

Only one hour for the series finale next week. Wasn’t the last series 90 minutes?

Figgygal · 25/04/2021 22:03

They needed after the last 2 a bit of a quieter episode
I don’t believe that’s the end of Jimmy Nesbitt
Carmichael needs to be ended and soon

To win Steve's trust. Did you see the nod he gave? She saved kate from being bumped from service so she could continue on duty whilst not under investigation.

In other words she wants them to find the truth. She just couldn't say it because she's at risk.

Bluntness100 · 25/04/2021 22:04

Other than Carmichael is defo bent, I can’t work it out at all.

Thurwell was killed to stop him talking, so someone above him.

I thought maybe jo knew Carmichael was part of it, or h so she was too scared to talk.

Dogatetheleftovers · 25/04/2021 22:04

Esma I agree. I think it would have been good to see the fallout of Ryan’s character.

PomLikeTheBattle · 25/04/2021 22:04

Why the same chuffing prison ?!

Buggerthebotox · 25/04/2021 22:05

I thought that was brilliant. So much information yet to be uncovered - but will it be, now Jo's in the prison of death?

Carmichael was well dodgy there, shutting Ted down like that.

How did they track the Mazda? If it's personal property, I didn't think they were allowed?

So Jo thinks Thur well was her dad and not Tommy? And he's offed? Who's Mrs Thur well? Why was she also offed?

PrincessScarlett · 25/04/2021 22:05

She definitely isn't safe in prison. She knows it, we all know it! Jo knows Kate will be better at solving this all and potentially freeing Jo of the OCG.

I reckon Jo thought her dad was Thirwell before AC 12 revealed it was Tommy Hunter. She said Tommy and her dad were controlling her. Got to be Thirwell.

MotherOfGodWeeFella · 25/04/2021 22:05

I disagree with the naysayers - but what the hell happens now? The bit about Jo confessing to shooting Ryan gets Kate back on the team and I think she'll tell Ted exactly what happened because she's not bent.

Thurlwell is clearly Jo's stepdad. Why would the OCG not have wiped GV's hard drive? What's that about?

I also got the impression that Jo was scared to talk in front of Carmichael.

RedToothBrush · 25/04/2021 22:06

Only a court can decide if she lawfully killed him.

Until then sge would have been suspended i suspect.

But because the prosecutor has gone after Davison instead, Fleming gets to head up MIT without further hinderance in the meantime.

PhillipPhillop · 25/04/2021 22:07

Still think we wasted lots of viewing minutes with the pointless car chase.

EsmaCannonball · 25/04/2021 22:07

@peachgreen

SO annoyed if James Nesbitt really was only hired for a photo though. Ridiculous.
We didn't see the faces of the dead bodies so my guess is he's still alive but was tipped off that AC-12 were onto him.
MotherOfGodWeeFella · 25/04/2021 22:07

Except @PrincessScarlett - bitch bent warder and her henchwoman turned round and went away when they clocked the CCTV was on outside Jo's cell.

Well my blood pressure is through the roof. Great acting by Kelly McDonald.

Can’t decide about AMM acting. Deliberately bad? Or just bad?

gwilt · 25/04/2021 22:08

Neil Morrisey retired to Spain.
Neil Morrisey is H.

PrincessScarlett · 25/04/2021 22:08

I think we are being led to believe Carmichael is bent but she isn't. It was just too obvious with all the shutting Ted down every time he mentioned Osbourne.

And I hate that teeth sucking Carmichael does every time someone says something she doesn't like.

Mintyflesh · 25/04/2021 22:08

Jesus, Mary and Joseph and the wee donkey I'm confused.
Was it definitely Thurwell dead at the end? Or could it be a cover up?

User135644 · 25/04/2021 22:09

@Dogatetheleftovers

This series has 7 episodes but that felt as though 6 would have been enough!
There's that much going on and so many sub plots and characters they probably needed this one to set it up next week.
Buggerthebotox · 25/04/2021 22:09

It has to link back to Osborne then. He promoted Carmichael, and Thur well has been offed to stop him talking. Bit what's the point in Osborne being the big baddie - we know he's bent already. Looks as though Rohan was chucked under the bus too as it was he who leaked the crime figures.

NoisyBrain · 25/04/2021 22:09

I have a theory that Carmichael might just be a jobsworth arsehole rather than bent. It would be good if she ends up helping Ted somehow when she realises her loyalty to the Chief Constable is misplaced.

SophieB100 · 25/04/2021 22:09

Here's what I think (probably wrong)
Jo knows that Carmichael is involved, so scared of her, hence all the 'no comments'.
Carmichael is controlled by Osbourne.
As was Thurwell.

Crap theory, probably.

AC12theletterofthelaw · 25/04/2021 22:11

So disappointed they killed Ryan off.
