Ted has been the police so long that they won't necessarily have his DNA on file from him joining. He was arrested and interviewed last series so his DNA may be on the nominal database from then.

Just to add to this, I think GV also uncovered that the OCG were ‘cuckooing” vulnerable people like Terry and was going to reveal this as part of her wider findings

I'm not sure cuckooing in itself is bad enough. I don't mean that it's nit serious, of course it is, but it's a very well known tactic of eg county lines, so it wouldn't really be a surprise.

But perhaps we could tie the importance The Caddy placed on the list with trafficking. We know OCG traffics women (the brothel). What if they are also trafficking children?

Whilst mentioning The Caddy btw, the person who he told he was the caddy was Hilton (corrupt) and re-watching it looks as if Hilton is encouraging him to send in more OCGers as police recruits. So who were his protégées?

My brain is on the verge of exploding. I dreamt about it all again last night, something about Operation Windemere and investigating every single body of water in the Lake District for names and clues. This is over and above the Lakewell connection obviously.

Now in my waking moments I've gone right back to basics that the OCG are blackmailing Jo as evidenced by her increasing frustration, when she collected her burner phone, throwing the wine glass at the photograph and then sweeping the lap top off the table and also the strapline 'lies cost lives'

I've got to the stage where I can't think any more for tying myself in knots and I may need a nap before 9pm.

Bearing in mind we've been told we'll need therapy after tonight, I think it's going to kick off right royally!

End of series 5, going back to the morse code that Cottan tapped out (yeah I know), Steve and Kate deduced that there wasn't an H as such, just four caddies. 3 are dead - one remains alive. Not necessarily belonging to someone with the initial H.
It isn't Ted because when Cottan was blinking at the initials, in his dying declaration, he didn't blink twice during the second round, when Kate went through the alphabet again, she got to D or E, before the emergency services forced her to stop. He'd have blinked twice at A if it was Ted.
