I think Manrika will be absolutely fine about Felix. She's not actually emotionally invested, it's a game, and twice she's said it could be a girl.

If Manrika wins she will laugh off that Felix is Natalya.

If she doesn't she will be faux outraged!

Won't they meet before the results are announced?

Yes normally they meet after they’ve rated each other before the results are announced. In past series’ they’ve then had a live show with all the past contestants, they show the meet and then have the players in the final come out one at a time (in any order) to be interviewed. It’s all interspersed with interviews with the past players and then the finalists all stand together and 5th/ 4th/ 3rd place etc are announced and then the winner is announced. In the past I always felt like the show then ends pretty abruptly, they pretty much announce the winner and then the show ends.

Not sure if the format will be the same, it was in the US despite the show not being live but I guess the pandemic may have meant they couldn’t bring all the players back together for a final, but maybe they will at least have Emma doing some kind of socially distanced finale with the final 5.

Only he didn't find out until after he had locked in his blocked player that he had to go and see them to deliver the news.

Gah. BBC have pulled Masterchef final. Bang goes my perfect lockdown Friday evening.

My initial thoughts but it's fine, I'll watch gogglebox tonight instead of tomorrow....call me a problem solver

I was going to say BBC breakfast tv will be awks tomorrow as they won't have the masterchef winner to interview/talk about but of course they won't need to, they'll have other 'stuff' to repeat.

Imagine having to sit at a table and be civil to someone you've just voted up because you thought they were genuine but they're a big bloody fishycat...I'd be furious...

I still don’t think Andy has blocked an OG, partly because I think it’s against his nature but also because I think if he had he would have looked a lot more upset when he realised he had to go and block them face to face.

@TitsInAbsentia - have you watched S1? The dinner table meet was very frosty because the only player not to vote tactically voted for a player he thought he was close to only to find out s/he was a catfish. It was very awkward as they were obviously inwardly seething that they’d voted for a player they thought was genuine only to find they were a catfish.

I want Syed/Hashu to win. But if not, as long as it’s an OG and not Tom or Alice I’ll be happy.

If Andy blocks Alice, then everyone will be confident that the other newbie is definitely Pippa and Femi so that would mean an OG will definitely win. Really looking forward the the final showdown. I think Manrika will play it cool and claim she always had her suspicions about Felix and was just playing the game. I think Hashu will be forgiven very quickly for being a catfish as he is so lovely.

With Syed, Manrika and Andy all being in the west midlands I wonder if they've kept in touch or if after watching the show they've changed their opinions of each other.

I don't believe Manrika thinks Felix is fake for a second. She has fallen for the idea of him and likes the spiel he gives. There is a certain beauty to that versus her relationship with Syed, where she has fallen for the personality over the photo. I don't think it is romantic for her, but definitely an emotional connection.

I've never seen any of the US versions, are they as watchable?

I gave the US version 10 minutes. Unwatchably shouty and OTT.

I enjoyed the US version although I have realised that even though I watched it most recently I remember far less of the players or storylines than I do of S1 & S2 of the UK version. Not sure if that’s because i binge-watched it rather than watching it episode by episode or if it was just more forgettable than the UK versions.

I liked the US version.

I have decided not to watch the final until I know who has won. If it is Manrika I won't bother watching it as I will just get annoyed.

I have but I just can't remember the details - was that where 'sammie' won and the other poor guy was really quite in to the idea of her?
