Ok am I going completely mad or has that churchy woman on Naked attraction been on Goggle box before?
I remember her but don’t think she played the piano at the end of it!?
And Naked attraction wasn’t on tv last week I went back through tv mag?
Fed up with the same old shows being viewed on there,it’s all getting a bit stagey and set up.

I do like Gogglebox but I find it a bit cringe the way some of them reference their sex lives when talking to family members. The two Leeds sisters and the chuckle brother siblings are bad for this. Do you think they've been told to say that kind of stuff? It's just weird.

Runkle · 22/03/2021 00:22

That episode of naked attraction was repeated in the week.

Sparklingbrook · 22/03/2021 06:59

I find the Brummie mother and daughter quite annoying. Always stating the obvious.

cricketmum84 · 22/03/2021 07:04

Yeah I was sure I had seen it before too. God she was a lucky mare though wasn't she!!

On the subject of the Leeds sisters - they annoy me so much. They just seem really false and like they are acting but very badly. They make me cringe.

lollipoprainbow · 22/03/2021 07:35

@DogsAreShit I find the chuckle brother relatives odd to be honest although they are very funny I would never joke about sexual things with my brother and he certainly wouldn't with me !!

cricketmum84 · 22/03/2021 07:38

*mucky mare not lucky!!

Mydogisagentleman · 22/03/2021 09:47

I love Pete and his little sister Sophie.
Not screeching, false, spam loving, dog hiding women though

cosmopolitanplease · 22/03/2021 10:42

Aw I love Izzy and Ellie, they always make us laugh.

I do too.

Gogglebox is my Friday night comfort tv. Grin

Me too. I don't find them false AT ALL.

People can't really be fake with their own family, would be too weird and hard to keep up

Mooserp · 23/03/2021 15:52

The ones I just don't enjoy are Abby and Georgia, Anne and Ken (had to look their names up)

Agreed. They contribute nothing, imo.

Paige and Sally could also be dropped.

I can't stand the hairdresser man with the small poodles. The way he was laughing about his mother's forgetfulness with his husband was horrible. I don't know how he still has a job or a business tbh as you could imagine him being really snide about clients behind their backs.

On the other hand, I absolutely love everything about the Siddiquis. They are not all "me me" and manage to be genuinely funny but kind to one another too.

LettyLoman · 23/03/2021 16:36

I love gogglebox but why are they always watching naked attraction?

DogsAreShit · 23/03/2021 16:41

Hairdresser man is grim and has made some horrible remarks about women.

I love the Siddiquis too. They are genuinely funny.

That piece with Stephen on the phone to his mother, with the husband sniggering in the background, ugh.

clary · 24/03/2021 01:09

Gogglebox families was an answer in the wall on Only Connect last night - and the team didn't know it! Included the Siddiquis as well, how could you not know that?

Love Siddiquis, also Lee and Jenny and the Welsh couple. Not a fan of the NE girls tho. "Hostile planet? What's hostile mean?"

Bouledeneige · 24/03/2021 01:16

Its always been very staged. they are obviously being told a selection of programmes to watch together and comment on. Others half of them wouldn't be watching a TV or terrestrial channels at all let alone University Challenge and Only Connect!

My friend who works in TV was talking to the crew on TOWIE and they were saying what hard work it is telling the 'stars' what conversations to have and having to re-shoot them over and over again when they forget what row they are supposed to be having or gossip they are supposed to be spreading.

apurplecar · 24/03/2021 08:09

I can't believe some posters actually think they're not told what to watch.

OF COURSE they're told what to watch. They don't have a camera crew in their houses 24 hours a day just waiting around for when them fancy watching something GrinGrinGrin

Yes, apparently it takes ages to install all the cameras/lighting etc and you can tell they have had to squish their sofas together to get the right shot. Grin
cosmopolitanplease · 24/03/2021 09:23

Yes of course the tv program watchings are planned and set up, which makes the 'accidentally caught funny incidents that luckily happen right in front of the camera' even more cynical and annoying (Jenny and Lee Hmm).

CharityDingle · 24/03/2021 10:39

Yes, of course they are told what to watch, and apparently they are sent specific clips of some programmes in advance also.

I find most of the staged stuff where the goggleboxers are doing something unrelated to what they are watching on tv, seldom works as entertainment.

I think that is partly why I love the Siddiquis so much, they engage with the programmes they are watching, and are funny as well.

CharityDingle · 24/03/2021 10:43

Most of them look reasonably comfortable with how they are seated, even with the sofas squished together, in some cases Grin

But Paige and Sally (mother and daughter) still sit almost on top of one another. Aaaargh.

Mooserp · 24/03/2021 10:59

The early series were better, they were a lot more natural. And they didn't have them commenting on every little detail in a drama 'what's she got there?' 'who's that at the door?' etc.

I have been watching old series recently, love seeing some of the former goggleboxers.

The other thing I like is that what was in the news was completely different (obviously) so it's a nice distraction too.
