New season started tonight on channel4, is anyone watching? That family who are looking at the Newfoundland seem lovely, hope it works out

The staff at the centre are so lovely. And I love how they seem to really match for what the person and the dog needs. I hope I can find a centre like that when I'm in a position to get a dog.

I do like the programme but don't like that everyone looking for a dog has to have some sort of sob story. Do the makers of the programme advertise for people to take part or are they really people just coming to you to look for a dog?

Some of the dogs have sad stories and I am always so happy when they find a new home. The puppy whose breeder got rid of him made me cry. Disgusting person should not be breeding dogs if they don't care about the puppies

The sob stories are almost a bit cringey sometimes because like you say everyone seems to have to have one but the adorableness of the programme makes me almost forgive it!

Those owners who couldn't look after their dog cos they were building a house 😠☹️😳

Did you just go of your own accord to Wood Green or did you reply to an ad or something?

Some of the people on the programme seem to live a fair distance from the rescue centre so I am wondering why they choose there and not somewhere more local to them.

Me and DH used to visit there years ago when we lived fairly close. There was a big sort of enclosure where the cats were and you could go in with them. We homed a couple of cats from there. One came and sat on my shoulder so we knew we had to have him!

I applied through the programme after seeing an ad at the start of lockdown 1. I’d never actually watched the programme, but we wanted a rescue dog and local places wouldn’t look at us due to the ages of our children. We were only interested in rescuing, and if they hadn’t been able to help, would have waited until a dog came along rather than buying.
We live about an hour away, so just drove up and back when we had to be there. We also don’t really have a sob story, although they may make a small one out of it for the programme. It’s generally a happy tale!

I love all the dogs and all the staff, they’re amazing and so passionate!
One of the families really annoyed me, with that kid who was begging for a puppy and then was scared of a TINY puppy. Had he never seen a dog before?! Their sob story was that the parents had Covid ans were coughing 😂 But apart from that I adore it all.
