Did anyone else watch this tonight, can't find a thread about it?

Are we allowed to discuss them?
Surely it's ok as it's a tv program which has just been broadcast.

I cannot believe what a total soap opera this has turned into!

@HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee

I really don’t care about the tribulations of the monarchy or their entitled disenchanted children
So why click on the thread? Confused

@HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee

I’ll post because that’s my opinion on that particular show That’s how it works,you ask for an opinion not a preset response to validate your viewing choices
No one asked for your opinion on them.
HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 07/03/2021 03:17

Same as you & every other poster. To express an opinion. And it doesn’t necessarily need to be an opinion that you concur with
There is no preconditions or rules that one must agree with or effuse about the op

In fairness, you don’t need to have watched the programme, because it was pretty much identical to all the other Channel 5 royal cheapies, with the same footage and much the same talking heads. Though there was a sweaty possibly Australian-sounding man with a lot of chins and a former royal butler wearing a formal suit and waistcoat but sitting scrunched up in an incredibly uncomfortable-looking position. Other than that, it was Jennie Bond and Dickie Arbiter saying what they usually say.

winterinvenice · 07/03/2021 08:16

I don’t watch east Enders. Should I go on that thread to tell them I don’t and that their viewing choice is shit?

Crookairroad · 07/03/2021 08:20

I watched some of it. Nothing really new but it was quite interesting hearing about what happened early on in the relationship and marriage.

I’ll certainly be watching tomorrow night. I like them both. I’m not keen on the rest of the Royal Family.

Sittinonthesand · 07/03/2021 08:21

I watched it. It was quite interesting to start with but I didn’t watch the whole thing when I realised there was nothing new in it.

Mudflapsarego · 07/03/2021 08:44

I always felt sorry for Diana having to deal with the likes of Dickie Arbiter. Dreadful man. Pretending to be upright and loyal while spilling all the beans. Nice little earner obviously. His daughter is now a royal correspondent too of course.

I'm at the point where I wish the entire RF and the correspondents that follow their every move were put on a boat together and pushed out to sea where they could spend their voyage speculating endlessly and gazing at their own and one another's navels for ever more Grin

I know it's considered sacrilegious to say it, but I find the Queen pretty cold and far too interested in protecting the status quo. She should have slimmed everything down much sooner. Let's hope for Kate's sake the whole shebang comes to an end in time for her and her dc to live a normal life. She knocks spots off all of them.

As for Harry and Meghan, I can't see it ending happily but the best answer to all of this controversy is to enjoy your life in the USA, live it to the full, switch the focus away from yourselves, do genuine good for others with no expectation of any pay back, and stop bleating!

Mystifies me how people get so wound up about it all.

TurquoiseDress · 07/03/2021 08:48

I was flicking through channels while DH was preparing dinner & decided to watch it, made him too!

It was interesting from the point of view of a timeline of events from when they met etc? All those royal commentators, don't really know them apart from Jennie Bond

@HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee

...did you watch it?

Agreed.

Piers Morgan springs to mind.

slothbyday · 07/03/2021 09:07

I watched it - it was very biased, and given most (maybe all?) the talking heads were journalists it certainly perpetuated their approach which is known to be against them
One thing that stood out was how many times they would put blame on Megan - Megan chose to move them all, Megan chose to leave, Megan decided they would live the life of "yoga by the beach" and they came back to that phrase a few times.
Rarely was there a Harry decided or they agreed to

WibbleWibble246 · 07/03/2021 09:13

...did you watch it?

They obviously didn't Grin

I didn't either, I missed it. Do you think it was set up to come out before the interview with Opera that is on Monday? I imagined it would be hurriedly put together by the journos as soon as news dropped that MM would be doing that. I might watch that! I don't really have any strong feelings about them as a couple but I was surprised a high profile interview was coming out when they wanted to be left alone...

TurquoiseDress · 07/03/2021 09:32

Well I just wanted to ask the obvious question as this is a Telly addicts thread & the pp was certainly getting their knickers in such a twist about this program Grin
