Did anyone enjoy Scorpion, the tv series?

If so, do you have any recommendations for similar shows?
My dds (12, 15) loved it but they have watched it all.
Looking for something with action, light hearted with maybe a bit of romance thrown in.
Thanks

Loved Scorpion.
Have they seen Chuck?

JessieOh · 04/03/2021 01:08

Try Away.

I think its called away. About a space mission. Space programmes wouldn't be my first choice usually but we really enjoyed it as a family and cared what happened to the characters.

Thanks for the replies. I think Chuck would be a good fit but it's not available on Netflix or Prime in my location.
I suggested Away but they weren't keen.
Has anyone seen Private Eyes? I can't find an age rating for it.

Yes! Loved it (although was getting a bit bored towards the end). Also loved White Collar, Limitless, Person of Interest, Suits. Not sure if they're all still on Netflix as I watched them a while ago.

Yes.. Loved it..

if they liked that they should like
The Mentalist and White Collar and Lucifer

all 3, have someone helping police type thing.. Lucifer is a little different as its the devil helping, but its prob my fav show at the moment.

SpacePotato · 13/03/2021 02:52

I'd say Lucifer and the mentalist especially were unsuitable for a 12 year old tbh.

There's a series called Carter that's a bit tongue in cheek. Ex TV star turns private detective.

Maybe.. didnt think of the ages.. sorry.

just for the adults then.

Loved Scorpion
But I can’t think of a similar programme. Though the A team keeps popping into my head as a suggestion!
Oh how about marvel Agents of shield? Brilliant series that links into the films.

chergar · 13/03/2021 05:31

I'm not sure what ages these are suitable for but a few that might suit are
Veronica Mars
Outer Banks
Nancy Drew
Locke & key
Sherlock
Deception
Instinct
Bones
Forever
Frequency

I think they'd enjoy Private Eyes, and it's suitable for their age range.

They might also enjoy Leverage, which is on Prime Video in the UK. White Collar is also a great suggestion.

MrsTidyHouse · 13/03/2021 05:37

Zoo

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 13/03/2021 05:58

My teen DD loved Scorpion. She was also a fan of Covert Affairs (think Barbie crossed with 24) and Zoo.

NewjobOldme · 19/03/2021 22:12

Private Eyes is proving very popular. And there's several series so it will keep them busy for quite a while.

White Collar but not certain if it's suitable for a twelve year old.

I wonder about The Greenhouse Academy maybe?

Film, not a series, but I really enjoyed the man from U.N.C.L.E - there was an original series too but I found it just too old fashioned.

I will have to look up private eyes, haven't come across it.

NewjobOldme · 19/03/2021 22:30

They've seen Greenhouse Academy and enjoyed it, thanks.
Private Eyes is watchable enough that DH and I can tolerate it. It's a difficult age to find something to watch as a family.
