I’ve seen a few so don’t be put out if I say I’ve seen it

Ideally needs to be in English and on prime it needs to be free with subtitles

Tv series or film?

UmteenthUser · 28/02/2021 21:10

Glitch on Netflix was good, an Australian version of The Returned

On Netflix I can recommend:

Insidious & Insidious 2
The Conjuring
Annabelle (part of the Conjuring series)
The Nun (conjuring series)
Sinister
Hereditary
The Hole in the Ground
Woman in Black
Deliver us from Evil
10 Cloverfield Lane
Cabin in the Woods
Malevolent
Birdbox
Devil
His House

On Amazon prime:

Life (excellent sci fi horror)
As Above, So Below
Jeepers Creepers
Midsommar
30 Days of Night
Hollowman
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (has a teen cast but is actually really good)
Bone Tomahawk (excellent western horror with kurt russell)

Hereditary - nightmares for weeks! Midsommer, by the same director, is also very good but less nightmare inducing.

'Us', on Netflix. It's from the same director as Get Out - Jordan Peele.
And I know you ideally wanted English-speaking but there are some very good Korean and Japanese horror series on Netflix.

Tv series or film?
I don’t mind either

Thank you all. These are some good starters

Calibre on Netflix

www.imdb.com/title/tt6218358/

really really excellent - set in Scotland

The Korean film Parasite is very good.

ProfYaffle · 01/03/2021 06:34

The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix. First series was excellent, second was just OK.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 01/03/2021 11:00

Homeland.

Sharp Objects -American psychological thriller
Love Amy Adams in this.

I enjoyed Case 39 even if it got bad reviews. I think it's probably because I hadn't watched too many similar films. Don't watch the trailer first.

JudyGemstone · 11/05/2021 22:19

I watched a film called Fatale on Netflix the other day. Was surprisingly decent. Very pulpy/neo-noir vibe. B movie with bigger budget.

Hilary Swank was the lead, she was great in it.

JudyGemstone · 11/05/2021 22:25

Was a thriller I meant to say. Bit Brian De Palma ish.

I also watched The Dark and the Wicked which totally shit me up, its on shudder not Netflix though.

adrianmolesmole · 11/05/2021 22:28

Them on prime. I didn't get past the 3rd episode!
I'm enjoying Behind her Eyes on Netflix at the moment - a psychological thriller, it's good so far.
