We have been following Our Girl since 2014 and although there are to be no further series, we revisit time and time again to discuss. As an alternative, we are also watching the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier. We are now on series 7.

For reference:

Colonel Swagger and Colonel Nick - not the best pics, but all I could find quickly.

Just caught up on the last 10 minutes. Oh yes eejit, the next episode might be rather worrying.

Oh yes Rhu, was Colonel Nick the one who got involved with the concert pianist who had sold information to the Stasi? I'd forgotten about him.

Yes ilove there was a picture of him with Alex Kingston who played the unfortunate German love interest. He moved onto to being a swaggerish consultant in Casualty afterwards.

Rhubarb01 · 20/04/2021 22:34

When you consider the above examples of damn good C.O.'s and the current Colonel, there is no comparison.

eejittwo · 21/04/2021 08:43

Was Nick the one in Hong Kong, or was that Swagger?

Magi84 · 21/04/2021 09:36

I'm a bit vague about who was where as most of it is now all blended in for me. However I think Colonel Nick was the one getting them ready for Bosnia. I am sure Rhu will know for sure though

Ilovelblue · 21/04/2021 15:07

I think Col Swagger did two series (but maybe wrong). Col Nick was definitely in Germany. As you say magi they all blend into one by now.

Had to laugh just now when I saw this thread on MN:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/4226948-Whats-your-most-upsetting-tv-death?pg=7

I am, of course, about to add Elvi Harte to this list.

I found the death of Treville, in Musketeers series three v sad, but I’d agree Elvis was THE most upsetting on so many levels.

Ilovelblue · 24/04/2021 09:50

Agree of course eejit about Elvis. How could I not agree! To the point of course that even now I (we?) can't listen to his letter from the grave.

Evening all - ready for the next episode "Chain of Command" - only two more to go after this one - the end is near....

I had a gander through that thread ilove - some of them went back a very long way - even mentioning Upstairs Downstairs. I think it's fair to say that Elvis is definitely the most recent afflicting TV loss for us (although I shed a tear or two at the end of the last series of Unforgotten - and at the end of Call the Midwife this week, but that is almost compulsory)

Rhubarb01 · 27/04/2021 21:00

Pressing play....now!

Ilovelblue · 27/04/2021 21:00

Some of those TV programmes mentioned in that thread Rhu I had never even heard of!

Pressing play now.

The lads are airborne - over excited about something.

Rhubarb01 · 27/04/2021 21:02

Jessica - "Keeper of the Maps" - an important job. So they are on a Georgie style relief mission somewhere in Africa??

Ilovelblue · 27/04/2021 21:04

That plane is not exactly British Airways, is it?

A relief mission which I am sure will go wrong somehow. Otherwise there might not be much of a story....

Oh dear, latrine clean for Jacko and Tony.

Rhubarb01 · 27/04/2021 21:04

Down another nasty drain for Rossi and Jacko seems to be a theme for them.

So....Jeremy is having a reunion with Lillian....my..oh...my!

Rhubarb01 · 27/04/2021 21:04

Andy doesn't want Elf bunking with the blokes!

Ilovelblue · 27/04/2021 21:05

Andy doesn't look too chuffed that the Elf is bunking in with the rest of the lads. Well, it was good enough for Molly.........

Why do I expect to see CJ doing some Dad dancing in this club?

eejittwo · 27/04/2021 21:06

Mind you, LP got two mentions, because he was Freddy in Skins ...

Rhubarb01 · 27/04/2021 21:06

I reckon he would fit right in here.

Rhubarb01 · 27/04/2021 21:07

Wotcha...looks like the bloke from Taggart is in charge. Meanwhile Mark has turned up in Africa.

Ilovelblue · 27/04/2021 21:07

And here comes Mark Hobbs, newly commissioned mercenary soldier.

The bar or whatever you want to call it looks seriously dodgy.
