Our Girl Thread 59 "Our Girl and Soldier Soldier Revisited"

We have been following Our Girl since 2014 and although there are to be no further series, we revisit time and time again to discuss. As an alternative, we are also watching the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier. We are now on series 7.

Let's hope Mumsnet is back to normal next week. That actually wasn't a bad episode but the difficulties posting spoiled it.

Mark has found a "mentor" from the hostel who is an ex Para. He looks a bit mad - no wonder his name is Psycho!

Manwhile, back at the school, Kevin Fitzpatrick has an interview with Angie who is doing the recruitment drive.

Gosh, this is so cringeworthy in today's world! Angie knows Kevin is gay and tells him that the army does not entertain gay men. Thankfully this has changed over the years. Kevin's father will go up the wall when he finds out.

Tough situation for Kevin. I suppose change of rules was on the agenda when this was made, but they've still got some way to go with bullying.

Oh dear, Jacko thinks it's funny to tell tales on Kevin...how grim.
