I need something glamorous to watch

I am in need of some escapism with everything being so depressing. I'm thinking something like Dallas, The OC, Riviera, Sex and the City, Big Little lies, Dirty John..... I've seen all of those so something along those lines. Basically the characters living in beautiful houses, wearing amazing clothes and looking fabulous. Is there anything I have missed?

Only just watched The Affair that should say!

Call My Agent on Netflix is great. Lots of Parisian sophistication but also funny

AndreaMartelsCoat · 20/02/2021 10:52

Yep Call my Agent is funny and I love the chicness and drool over Catherine Barneville, Mathias' wife. And Noémie and Andrea Grin

alloverthecarpetagain · 21/02/2021 13:13

I also love Call My Agent for all the chic effortless clothes, the Parisian streets and the fast pace of the whole thing. It took me till series 2 to realise that the clients of the agency are actual French actors hamming it up playing themselves!

Greenleaf

The Bold Type on Prime Video

DamsonDress · 21/02/2021 13:21

Ok, not strictly glamorous but just bloody brilliant but give Crazy Ex Girlfriend a try.

On paper everything I would hate but, my god, did i love it.

Mrsbrownsgargoyle · 21/02/2021 13:24

Mad Men
The Americans

BunnyRuddington · 21/02/2021 13:25

Have you seen Sally Lindsay's Posh Sleepover on Ch5?

Motherdare · 21/02/2021 13:29

Those who’ve seen Firefly Lane, how the hell did that couple afford the huge mansion by the sea? She was a housewife for most of their marriage and he was a tv producer on an Ellen style programme. Trust me, that does NOT earn you big bucks. Decent salary but nothing that would buy you the “one of the finest waterfront properties in West Vancouver” (I googled the actual house).

DamsonDress · 21/02/2021 14:06

@Motherdare

I know! I kept waiting for them to explain it. Very bizarre and unlikely. I assume it was just gratuitous property porn.

It looked like a hotel in the background as they sat by the pool.

Do you mind subtitles? I really enjoyed Winter Sun on Netflix. Its in Turkish but I think it might fit the bill. There are posh interiors, lovely scenes of Istanbul, handsome men and women, fashion, a bit of violence - but not too much and a nice romance.

Livefortherain · 21/02/2021 18:04

Dynasty 100%

There are 3 seasons on Netflix at the moment!

WingBingo · 21/02/2021 20:04

@lunapeace if you like Desperate Housewives then try Why Women Kill.

It’s on Bravo I think, via Sky On Demand. It’s awesome.

waltzingparrot · 21/02/2021 20:44

High Seas - glamorous dresses, takes place on luxury liner

Reign - glamorous dresses, takes place in French castles

MiniMileyMoo · 21/02/2021 20:54

With a similar feel to Ugly Betty, I've just binge watched Jane the Virgin (6 seasons, on Netflix), easy to watch, would recommend!

MarshaBradyo · 21/02/2021 20:56

Selling Sunset

Seconding Gossip Girl

partyatthepalace · 22/02/2021 01:14

The Good Wife if you never saw it. Diane and Kalinda’s wardrobes are covetable, as is Josh Charles’ smirk. And you can just disappear into it. Also Mr Big is in it! Which has reminded me - re-watch Sex and the City!

LongPauseNoAnswer · 22/02/2021 06:57

Any of The Real Housewives franchise. At the moment we’ve got Beverly Hills and Atlanta on French Netflix. Might be different in the UK.

LongPauseNoAnswer · 22/02/2021 06:58

Oh and The Good Fight on Prime. The clothes are incredible.

sandgrown · 22/02/2021 07:05

There is a series on Netflix about high end Indian weddings. I think it’s called The Big Day. Some of them are amazing and very glamorous.

BlueCowWonders · 22/02/2021 07:07

As @Spring2021 mentioned upthread, The Marvellous Mrs Maisel. Set in late 50s/early 60s it has the most amazing wardrobes/ department store/ apartment. That's not at all the main point of the series but the overall look is so glamorous- and it's funny and smart too

FromEden · 22/02/2021 07:07

If it can be reality TV then bling empire on netflix

WingingWonder · 22/02/2021 22:19

Revenge- Hamptons / crime/ glossy think gossip girl gone bad!!!
