Framing Britney, thoughts?

I guess if it wasn't true then she would speak out about it but instead she's thanked the free Britney movement. Very shocking. Even if she's more unwell than we realise she has fewer freedoms than say Kanye who has been allowed to be far more 'mad' in public than she has.

I've just watched it and found some aspects very harrowing. The poor woman was obviously having significant mental health struggles and was hounded day by day. The paparazzi who's car she damage summed it up when he said that they had no idea what she wanted to be left alone. When the interviewer challenged this by saying, what about when she told you to leave her alone, he claimed it was just tor that day, not forever.

I do feel there is a huge conflict of interest and perhaps certain people have become very used to the wealth that she brings. Good on her for not working.

I haven't managed to watch it yet, but wondered if it mentioned the Jonathan Ross interview she did at all?

I'd have to look at the details to remember it again, but I'm sure in recent years she did an interview with Jonathan Ross and it had to be massively cut down because she started telling him all about the conservatorship? It was before all this really became mainstream so it was all a bit bizarre at the time I think, but looking back, I wonder if she was talking about it trying to get the press / public to be more aware of the situation she's in. Obviously didn't work as it got cut, but made me wonder what Jonathan Ross made of it at the time.

I found it really sad, but also quite enlightening on how the press demonised her. I was thinking of how I would have reacted in her position, eg having PND and going through a custody battle. I probably also would have shaved my head and attached a paparazzo with an umbrella. I really hope things improve for her, at least allowing the conservatorship change from her father to an independent party

I watched the first half but I kept thinking what's happened to her mum? Is she being controlled too or is she part of it? Very sad either way.

I think her mum has tried to help her by getting her a lawyer? But I could be wrong, I think the issue is that her dad has all the power and it seems no one can touch the conservatorship.. even though it's clearly not the best situation.

I really think under those circumstances I would have done the same thing too. I actually think the photographer was lucky she didn’t hit him with the umbrella !

My only experience of paparazzi has been of seeing them around London. First time I was in Soho and there was a huge crowd of photographers, so many they were going into the street. I asked what was going on and they said Amy Winehouse was eating in the restaurant. Another time was in a falafel place and Jude Law was in there with a friend. There were a couple following him and the owner of the falafel place kept on chasing them out.

I’ve seen Hilaria Baldwin comment on it, saying that she posts so many pictures of her children on Instagram, because it then dilutes the value of photos that the paparazzi take so they don’t get harassed as much. Who’s going to pay $1mn for a rubbish photo, when you can get them for free. Must have completely destroyed the paparazzi industry.

It is so sad what Brittney is going, her father is so controlling and has completely taken advantage of her and spent all of her money!
