I can't see a thread so apologies if there already is one. Tomorrow night is the final. I think it will be Ed – and deservedly so – but I would love Tom to win. Does anyone else care?

A worthy winner, Ed has been consistently good. Tom did amazingly well and grew in confidence and ambition. What a lovely programme, so nice to watch!

First time I have every watched a show where I got so fond of the Contestants! We loved it as a family and Claudia was a great host

Watching the first episode, I thought Tom was an impressionist 'doing' Mary Berry . I kept thinking he'd have to stop eventually because it wasn't funny after a couple of minutes, but no...

I'm glad Ed Balls won. I think he seemed like a very good cook, and I really wanted a piece of his banana loaf.

Loved this programme , only found it by chance the other night.

I wanted Tom to win as he was so creative. Also loved all his expressions, 'giddy with joy' made me laugh !

Did anybody see what Tom made for his plant based picnic dish?
They had to do a meat, fish, plant based and sweet dish - I'm sure Tom only did 3!! (Pedant here, loved the show...)

There was a red cabbage based 'slaw' but I think he forgot/ran out of time because we never saw him make it and they didn't mention it!

(As in, I think someone else had to make it for him.)

No, they went with the chicken pate and had Gruyere in them.

I wanted Tom to win, but I'll be happy with his runner up position if it means he gets more tv roles - the world needs more Tom!

'Plant based' - I went back through as I couldn't remember what he'd done, and def think something went haywire.

They didn't really mention either of the vege/vegan dishes I didn''t think.

I loved the programme but my only complaint (and I know it wouldn't make good tv!) is they never show anyone clearing or washing up.

My DH was impressed with Ed Balls and I'm sure he felt similarities (basically they are both men of a similar age who like cooking!)

BUT Im convinced DH actually thinks hes on a cookery show every time he cooks!! Sometimes he gets ingredients out (days) in advance...and they are usually still there when he has finished and despite not having a tv studio full of equipment he manages to use a plethora of seemingly unneccassary bowls, trays and pans every time. And he hasn't noticed that there are no low paid tv runners or minions to wash up and clear up after creating a masterpiece! We need the contestants to be graded on how they leave the kitchen afterwards as well

We noticed that Tom didn't do anything plant-based! But odd that it wasn't mentioned by any of the judges.

I'm glad Ed won though as he was the most consistent overall.

I think they both did some sort of salad as the plant-based bit.

But, although they mentioned Ed’s plant-based dish just before the judging they didn’t mention Tom’s and they didn’t discuss either of them in the judging. Very odd.

They both definitely had a plate of ‘salad’ type thing
