I had thought this was a new series, but no it is a re-run of the original.

Long before Montelbano stupified us with amazing scenery and terrible dialogue this UK made drama tried to out Italian the Italians.

I turned it off. Seems that over the 10 years since it has been made the sound quality is really poor.

Some parts are find and then suddenly the voices just disappear.

Watched some last night. Didn’t reliese it was 2hr per episode

I liked it

But only 3 episodes according to google

Yes there were only 3 episodes. There was outrage at the time but the BBC wouldn't budge and make more of them.

I went back to this as there is so little worth watching at the moment.

And was going to say it had every cliched character in it, but then given how long ago it was made you could say it set the standard.

And the high powered but corrupt families.

But quite enjoyed it. And I bet the cast loved being in Rome to do the filming.

So much lovely scenery and architecture.

Even tv goes on getting worse, I might even find myself watching Montelbano again!!
