From the trailer I’m getting that the main character is basing his detective work on that of a fictional character from his childhood.

Or have I got it completely wrong?

I thought Lupin was great, if you like the 'gentleman thief' vibe, White Collar is a really good show too

I am only on episode 2 so I haven't met the dog yet, only the son, the ex, the jewel dealer and the evil Pellegrinis.
