Maybe the antlers were so they didn’t think he’d only half painted a zebra Schadey?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 21/02/2021 21:00

Well done, Wolf Lady!

Right choice to send henry away - he's been hanging on by the skin of his teeth for a couple of weeks.

He's a nice lad though- I'm sure he'll do well.

Wolfcub · 21/02/2021 21:00

I think that was the right decision

HeadNorth · 21/02/2021 21:01

The wolf is amazing but for me water coming out of a wolf's mouth just seems a bit odd. I preferred the water element of all the others, to be honest. But still the right choices. Such a shame though, Henry seems lovely.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 21/02/2021 21:02

Well, All.

That was enjoyable - and I'm looking forward to CowPoo Week.

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 21/02/2021 21:04

Right decision - even though I am loving the 🐙 🐙

The wolf feet 😍

killickthere · 21/02/2021 21:06

this series has annoyed me so much. all the work is rushed and bodged, they are simply not given enough time to build, or finish to a high standard. no wonder cracks appear. It simply does not allow these talented potters a chance to show what they are consistently capable of, or the joy of pottery. Bah.

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 21/02/2021 21:06

I used mud for camo back in the day.

I probably cow or sheep poo’d myself frequently.

Sunbird24 · 21/02/2021 21:19

Tbf Sheldon it was probably easier to get off than cam cream, poo or not!

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 21/02/2021 21:44

They said the cam cream (when we could get it) was MaxFactor.

I can confirm it camouflaged my teenage pustules beautifully.

ThroughThinkandThing · 21/02/2021 22:16

We got told that too Sheldon. All I know is that it acts like cooking oil in the sun - never had such bad sunburn as when I'm cammed up.

Sunbird24 · 21/02/2021 22:21

Don’t think I ever had to use it in the sun, but can imagine!

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 21/02/2021 22:29

through

I can confirm I didn’t burn with field matter. 😎

Did the cam cream not slide? If not, how not? My make off was quicker off my face than a bob down the cresta run overseas.

We didn’t get cam cream anywhere hot (and only rarely elsewhere) and it was pretty much make do.

We could have knocked ourself out on it if there’d been the net and ebay back then...

Sunbird24 · 21/02/2021 22:34

Practically took sandpaper for me to get the cam cream off back in the day!

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 21/02/2021 22:39

In cold weather? Aye. Murder to shift.

I remember doing nbc runs and other girls had put on make up first thing.

They got that pink and puffy and hot they took off their resps and looked like they had those fancy watercolour tattoos you get now.

I always preferred the natural look and an extra half hour in my bag...

Egghead68 · 21/02/2021 23:01

@SchadenfreudePersonified

Does anyone else think that Peter looks like Pauline's husband Arfur off Eastenders (going back a bit now)
Yes!

I so agree.

Why don’t the producers of these programmes (Bake Off and Sewing Bee are also guilty of this) realise we don’t watch them for the time/jeopardy element, but to see talented people do wonderful things?

Clearly, there has to be an element of time constraint, but not to the extreme. These shows are not recorded live, and are heavily edited and post-produced, so why ruin them with the endless countdowns and setting people up to fail?

Me too, I really enjoyed the planning of the animal water features (very much my thing!) but the fact that they all had to be a certain height meant it was really tricky to do in the time.

Someone suggested it's tighter timing this season because of maintaining the bubble- and the isolation period in the middle, but I wish they'd compensated by making challenges simpler.

Obviously some people managed it- I think Jodie's was a good design- but I'd rather have seen them make something a bit smaller, where they could have spent time on detail and decoration and it would be less likely to crack. Henry's raccoons had such expressive faces, I was sad that the bin didn't work.

I loved the ocotopodes and the okapi, (although I had the same thought as PP about the antlers!)

Sal's shell was great, although I was expecting a bit more pop of colour.

The right decision about the winner and the elimination for me. I think Jodie could win the whole thing.

Will they have the outdoor sleeping challenge, this season do you think?

Roussette · 22/02/2021 08:54

I'm boring, I just love the ordinary stuff they do.

A teaset, a coffee put with cups and saucers, Set of vases etc. I fall in love with some of these pieces, but not the off the wall stuff.

Cocolapew · 22/02/2021 09:42

Loved Adams octopus, thought it was better than the wolf.
Sal is usually my favourite but her sea slug was way too small Hmm

SchadenfreudePersonified · 22/02/2021 11:02

Agree with you Coco

But I think the advantage of the wolf was it squirted the water the way it was supposed to and it fed back into the reservoir. Adam's amazing octopus had a few hiccups in that area.

This is the joy of a simpler design.

derekthe1adyhamster · 22/02/2021 11:22

I can confirm that Adam is a lovely bloke. He lives a few roads away from me and he and his husband open their home during May as an artist's open house (pre covid!)
I have a few small pieces of his and some lovely prints. My sons know to always buy my birthday present from there (my birthday is in May) and they've opened up on line so I also get a Mother's Day card from there too :)

weaselwords · 22/02/2021 11:34

I’m so sad Henry has gone ☹️ He’s a lovely chap and so talented. Typically, I preferred Alon’s mad okapideer, but would have liked it glazed so shiny. Jodie and Adam are great potters but I find them a bit twee for my taste. Husband wants Jodie to win because she rides motorbikes 🙄

Roussette · 22/02/2021 11:39

Yes, I'll miss Henry too, he was so upbeat all the time even when it's all going tits up.
I think Alon i very talented, as are all the rest of them to be honest. I'm not a massive fan of Sal, although there's no getting away from her talent.
Peter comes across as such a nice bloke!

Mischance · 22/02/2021 11:41

Henry should have gone last week. Instead they booted out a lovely lady who had consistently done good work.

I do not like the competitive element. I would just be happy to see challenges achieved and talented people learning new skills.
