IMO Louis shot himself in the foot saying what he did about Verity (although he was spot on). The great British public thought 'ooh what a nasty man - we'll show you!' the fact thats shes crap doesn't seem to come into it!

caligula! where you been. She was Canadian I think and she died in her 30's of cancer. She has got the most beautiful voice - I have her cd - its fab! She sang 'Over the Rainbow' which I think Verity tried to emulate in one of the rounds - she was crap then too

To be honest I didnt think verity had a chance of getting to the final, but it just shows that simon is quite clever as both verity and rowetta had publisity early on after their auditions were 1st shown actually so did steve so he knows that the public were behind them even before they got to the final stage
