A Special School

Is anyone else watching this, about a special school in Wales, one of the biggest in the UK apparently.

They seem to care so much about the children, and it's lovely watching the children's increased confidence with things like the outdoors centre trip, or the surfing, etc.

@buildingbridge

I'm a little sceptical about one-size-fits-all special schools like this one

Thank you! I nearly lost hope in humanity when I saw the previous comments. In all honesty, it looked like overglorified babysitting. Though the staff are very be try caring.

I disagree, there were so many opportunities for the kids which they just don't get in normal special schools.

The staff were clearly very caring but to have the equipment and resources to help the kids work on skills which were not just academic were amazing

My days commented about a child he knows with profound special needs going to school, and what was the point of it. ConfusedAngry I couldn't believe that I had to explain to it that she would learn. But not in the same way. For example learning to use a switch to make a choice, I'd just as great an achievement as learning your times tables.

I was surprised that this attitude still exists.
