I agree it would be nice if Jay & Honey could just be friends.

Interestingly Billy is meant to be 61 and Honey is 44. Jay is 26. So actually a smaller age gap between him & Honey than the one between Honey & Billy!

Billy 61???
Cathy 70!???

I’m stunned by the ages.

I'd never have thought Bill was that age. Don't know what I'd have said for Honey. Couple of years younger maybe.

It really doesn’t suit Shirley to do the sobbing and wailing. Its like a fake Shirley Grin

This is an interesting episode. It’s like looking at the two different legacies of being in care, how it affected them both.

I love Stuart's smile. I don't fancy him, I can't explain it, but he just has the best smile

Report

He does. I love Stuart in an “aww, isn’t he cute?” Kind of way.

That was well done tonight, good when don’t run around silly stories but stay with sensitive stuff. I presumed she was someone ex in care child that was just older not a member of staff? Mind you we don’t know for sure he is the dad. Surely if you were a social worker you wouldn’t just happily turn up in a taxi to previously abused victim. It could well be someone else entirely! But I’m guessing not until they end up over Xmas table and de dum dah.

Stu does look good in a suit I give him that. Though was nearly sick watching them eat the ice cream.

So are we just supposed to forget Stuart chucked someone off a bridge and presumably murdered him?

Report
Akire · 07/11/2020 00:55

Well we manage to cope with Phil who’s probably dug a few graves Grin

Billy was 60 ages ago if not 65 as did a your a pensioner party didn’t they. They can’t get together. Mind you as someone pointed out Jay in theory is a child abuser so shouldn’t be under the roof with kids anyway.

And systematically terrorised Mick and Linda.

They have all forgotten Stuart's previously bad ways / killing people because he now collects empty loo rolls and eats weird food! However, I've always secretly fancied him as he is a good actor and has a nice smile and tried to change, even if he should be in prison really!
Rainie was also vile when she came into the show as Cora's drug addict daughter but she hasn't murdered anyone ( yet)

When Jay was taking drugs and the problems with Star etc etc Honey made him homeless! Fair enough to protect her children from him , but now we are meant to have forgotten all this?
She wouldn't go near him in real life. Not because he isn't nice but because of the history there with them both. Plus Jay thinks too much of Billy.
Silly story , but not as far fetched as the Mick one with Shirley calling up his old care worker. They really is bad and annoying!

I don't think the Slaters and Mitchell's are related at all

Oh The 80s of course they are , everyone in Eastenders is related to everyone else Xmas Grin

Litle Mo (Slater) was married to Billy(Mitchel)

I play the Seven Degrees of Separation Game watching EE , and there's only once I couldn't find a connection.

Grin Grin

70s , I'd completely forgotten about Billy and Little Mo! How could I forget that one?
Related by marriage but not blood relations. It's true they are all 'interconnected ' though. It used to be Pat they were all related too once..
It is a very odd place to live.

Had to laugh when Mick said to Shirley "get ahhht"

Almost expected him to add "out of my pub" like Barbara Windsor then he would remember he was no longer landlord of the Vic

For a bit of light humourSmile

Mick playing the tortured victim is torture for all of us. His much better playing 'cheeky chappie happy banter Mick. ' I agree that Mick thought Shirley was his sister not his mother back then. She wouldn't have authorized him to go into a home would she? It's all complete nonsense isn't it?

Report
the80sweregreat · 07/11/2020 11:20

I didn't mean to sound frivolous about Mick there! It's obviously a story line to show that men can be the victim of child abuse too , but it's just putting up with Mick's horrible angsty face I can't deal with here.
It all seems ridiculous too that she would show up and Shirley knew who to contact straight away as well.

Report
SoupDragon · 07/11/2020 11:22

And why would she show up given she knows she abused him?

Has Frankie spoken to her mother about it? I thought she had but now I'm not so sure.

I haven't seen Fridays yet but Count Mikulas Duff Duff Face was ......inspired .
I expected him to blurt out She's my daugh'er (without the "t" ) or I'm 'er Faavah when Shurl asked if she was his bit on the side .

Might catch up once DH stops watching his TV Binge

Something I was confused about last night. When mick said Shirley was “off on her toes” and him Tina and Kevin went into care. Who is Kevin? I thought Kevin was Shirley’s husband? Dark hair? Deans dad?

Report
the80sweregreat · 07/11/2020 12:39

No idea who is who with the Carters at times! They make up 'back stories' for them all the time ( Tina and Stuart's back story , now this one and a few with Shirley in the past too)
The dynamics of their early years with Babe and Stan and their mum was chaotic too.

Report
Smallsteps88 · 07/11/2020 12:49

I’ve had a look on Eastenders wiki and the only mention of Kevin is Kevin wicks her husband from 1980-1989. Mick was born in 1976 so that would have been from he was aged 4-13 which is right for the times he was in care so maybe I misheard and he said she was off with Kevin.
