Watching Us and wondering how common it is for Dad's to be completely out of touch with their teenage children? Is this a thing??
I have a 2 year old DD so a long way to go yet!

I sadly thought that it was similar to DS & DH.

DS can literally do no right, always seems to disappoint.
DS gets annoyed at the very sight of DH.

They always used to do so much together, Cubs, scouts, off camping together building dens etc. Stopped understanding each other around the mid 14 years old, 18 long months ago. They have brief moments where they click then it’s soon gone again. I’m sure once the awful hormones settle down things will be better again. I hope!

Watched all episodes, loved it, thought provoking, sad, funny all in one go

That's interesting Lady. I'm am only child and female so have never had any reason to think about this before. In the show the Dad said he struggled to connect with him from the age of 6 which seems very young. It's hard to watch the way he is with his son at times, you just want to shake them both. Must be hard for you to deal with at home!

I've just started to watch the 2nd episode, but gave up when Kat appeared.

I felt quite sorry for the dad in the first one.

Also think the wife is bloody awful for still wanting to do the trip-as a family, for the son.

Who seems to have no interest in being with either parent & obvs more interested in the irritating Kat.
