Anyone watching??
Love this show but very strange without the prommers!

She's fab. And so nice when she spoke.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 12/09/2020 21:39

Ok, that's given me goosebumps. I'm a sucker for close harmony like that.

JamieLeeCurtains · 12/09/2020 21:41

Oh dear, tears here

Pelleas · 12/09/2020 21:41

I could have cried when they did the sea song fantasia, the orchestra going faster and faster all by themselves. No audience bobbing and clapping. Sad

ineedaholidaynow · 12/09/2020 21:41

And me @PolkadotsAndMoonbeams

JamieLeeCurtains · 12/09/2020 21:43

Well, I don't know the BBC pulled it off, but they did. 👏

piglet81 · 12/09/2020 21:43

Oh dear, it’s making me cry 🙁 but I do love it...even more this horrible year.

No Danny Boy, though? Or did I miss it?

lynsey91 · 12/09/2020 21:45

No I am finding it sad and lacking without the audience. I like them bobbing and singing. No atmosphere really tonight

mrsmuddlepies · 12/09/2020 21:47

Thank you @Bloodybridget . She always looks so elegant.
I thought it was a fantastic evening with brilliant performances. I really enjoyed it.

FuzzyPuffling · 12/09/2020 21:47

I sang in the Albert Hall once. Amazing experience. Just having a stealth boast...sorry!

ineedaholidaynow · 12/09/2020 21:48

Chelsea Pensioners made me cry!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/09/2020 21:49

ah well, perhaps next year, but well done BBC.

JamieLeeCurtains · 12/09/2020 21:50

Golda was stunning. I'm so pleased I watched tonight.

Pelleas · 12/09/2020 21:51

Chelsea Pensioners made me cry!

Yes, a few watery eyes in our house too.

Subdued version of the National Anthem was a bit strange.

EasilyDeleted · 12/09/2020 22:00

It was lovely in a strange way. So nice to see live music again and the show beautifully put together with the external footage, lighting, camerawork. Poignant though.

Bellagio40 · 13/09/2020 00:39

I loved it

Starisnotanumber · 13/09/2020 12:53

They usually do outside broadcasts from around the UK.
Would have been nice if a few socially distanced people could have seen the live performances. I have seen cinema type performances where you and your car are allocated a space and you can sit inside or outside your car providing you stay in your space.

Singinginshower · 13/09/2020 17:14

I really enjoyed this, and like others, much preferred it without the flag waving audience

Dilbertian · 13/09/2020 18:06

It made me cry. Really showed what this pandemic is costing us. How much we need human interaction, community, and how powerful music is that such a small number of people could fill a huge space with such beauty.

I miss the Proms. Pre-dc I used to go several times every summer. Up in the gallery, floating on beautiful sound.

(Though I agree about the air horns. Ban them!)
