Anyone watching tonight? One couple are flat earthers and full on science deniers...

Wicca is a form of paganism, there are many, many different forms, too numerous to list, but for example there's

Northern Tradition (Norse Gods)
Celtic
Druidism

There are different kinds of witches too, there's

Hedge Witch
Kitchen Witch
Water Witch
Eclectic Witch (who incorporate a bit of everything)
Solitary Witch

It's not something that's easily explained, you're always learning. We don't have a "head" of our religion, unlike Ministers, Priests, Archbishops or anything. Neither do we have one dedicated place of worship.

Special, sacred places yes, for example, our group often hold rituals at Stone Circles or Forests.

It's a very open minded and tolerant religion, everyone is welcome. We don't harm anyone, there's no sacrifice or anything like that!

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 23/09/2020 20:38

Thanks @zukiecat. My best friend growing up was Wiccan, but always said it wasn't the same as paganism. I actually think some of her beliefs tallied and worked well with mine (C of E).

Italiangreyhound · 23/09/2020 20:54

@zukiecat I've very glad you got your dearest wish.

Personally, I would not feel comfortable taking part in spiritual practices I don't believe in. So, I totally understand others not wanting to pray or enter a church.

I'd feel the same about a lot of other religions. It doesn't mean I can't mix with people of other religions. I've been on multi-faith walks, eaten curry at the mosque and at the Sikh temple. Not beimg comfortable with being involved in other religious practices doesn't mean you can't mix with people of other religions.

Interesting episode

Wonder if they get asked if there is anything they wouldn’t do or swap to

2 totally different religions and faiths is very opposite

Felt sorry for the Christian mum missing her daughter first steps

But good the pagan family allowed the bibles to stay as other faiths learnt about

I enjoyed this weeks. 2 complete opposites, 1 family of Trump supporters. One of Mexican and Cuban descent.

Italiangreyhound · 30/09/2020 20:35

It was interesting but sad that the Trump supporters were not affected positively.

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 30/09/2020 20:56

@Italiangreyhound

It was interesting but sad that the Trump supporters were not affected positively.
Yes it was, although I'm not surprised in all honesty.

I thought the Trump husbands opinion on why they should call themselves American -Cubans/Mexicans not Cuban/Mexican-American interesting. I didnt agree with him but it was a view I'd never considered.

Italiangreyhound · 30/09/2020 20:59

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander must have missed that bit.

I like the New Zealand Wife swap. They seem to all learn something and end up friends!

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 30/09/2020 21:05

It was at the end when they sit round at the table. He said that they should be American first because... erm... America. It did make sense, especially when you consider they were actually born in America. But he couldn't seem to see that their heritage was so important to them.

Italiangreyhound · 30/09/2020 21:20

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander it's English grammar is all.

We put the adjective first and the noun second so a Mexican American is by definition an American of Mexican origin. If the person were legally Mexican but had an American history they would be an American Mexican.

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 30/09/2020 21:23

Yes but that wasn't his reasoning. He saw it as America is more important so should come first. At least that's how I understood what he said.

Italiangreyhound · 30/09/2020 21:34

I know but if you do that it changes the meaning. Anyway, I'm not surprised the Mexican mum was happy to get out of there!

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 30/09/2020 21:38

Not sure Trump husband was clever enough to know that Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/09/2020 21:40

They usually have total opposites

Likes witch v Christian

Italiangreyhound · 30/09/2020 22:32

I asked my husband what sort of wife he thought he would get if he swapped. I said it always the total opposite.

He said one who doesn't talk much and does a lot of tidying!

Charming!

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/10/2020 20:01

This weeks was good. Animals lover v Hunter

Nonamesavail · 08/10/2020 11:16

I felt awful for the woman going to the church group and they were awful to her.

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/10/2020 21:04

Non stop partying goer who’s 3yr is up all night

Wheytaminute · 15/10/2020 02:46

Yes - I enjoyed this weeks episode.

The party family drove m crazy - I'd hate to be their neighbours.

I hope that the little boy gets a regular bedtime from now on. I can't imagine how my son would ha ve been if he was allowed to stay up all hours.

Party mom was a little annoying though. If i were tidy dad I would have wanted to throttle her and confetti explosions.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/10/2020 16:32

Yes party mum annoying

Tho clean dad hovering kids while eating 🙀🙀🙀

Df and I did comment that party dad put other mum on his shoulders as obv couldn’t with party mum

And when she fell over :( party dad didn’t rush over to help her up
