I couldn't see a thread on this so apologies if there was one and I missed it.

Apparently this will be on before the end of the year, filming has just finished

That's the wrong decision - Rowan know-all should have gone definitely.

jennymac · 29/09/2020 21:29

That's ridiculous. I love Rowan but he no way did Mak deserve to go home.

PinkDaydreams · 29/09/2020 21:31

Has anyone else noticed Dave's shoulder dance wiggle thing he does when he's happy, it's really annoying me!
And yes yes to pp that found this episode a bit boring, I thought the same

MrsKingfisher · 29/09/2020 21:31

I love Rowans disregard for the rules and his flair for ideas he can't pull off. I still don't like Dave there's something about him that seems mean and arrogant.

Lolaloveslemonade · 29/09/2020 21:35

Wrong person went home tonight

LaBelleSauvage123 · 29/09/2020 21:39

That’s wasn’t fair.

Pbbananabagel · 29/09/2020 21:45

So gutted, feels like a bit of unconscious bias which is really sad :( Rowan should have gone and he knew it too.

Italiangreyhound · 29/09/2020 21:47

@Scarby9 I really hope you manage to make the macaroons.

TweeBree · 29/09/2020 21:54

Am I the only one who thought Dave was gay? He dropped about 10 points in his likability factor when they showed him walking with this wife - and I'm a straight woman. Grin

Well, last week they showed him with his pregnant wife attaching a wheel to a pushchair...? Grin
wowfudge · 29/09/2020 22:21

I haven't warmed to Dave although give it a few weeks that may change.

theliverpoolone · 29/09/2020 22:22

Just looked at the Radio Times info about the contestants, and was surprised to see that Rowan's only 55. I thought he was the oldest there, but Linda's a good few years older than him. I like him, but really think he should have gone tonight, he messed up all three bakes.

Momniscient · 29/09/2020 22:32

I'm very irritated by this. So someone makes a bake so strong that Prue coughs and can't breathe, but that's ok because it's coffee not cumin. Two guys who struggle with time on the same challenge, one edits his bake so that he can do it on time and pulls it off, but no - save the guy who hasn't finished anything yet.

Dave is uncomfortable to watch, especially the way he responds (or doesn't!) to Matt.

Hurrumph.

There were some lovely moments, but Rowan needs to go next week unless he really turns himself around.

Toddlerteaplease · 29/09/2020 22:32

I'd have put him at 65 easily.

HeddaGarbled · 29/09/2020 22:35

I think Dave is just not as relaxed on camera as some of the more extrovert contestants and that he has absolutely no pretence. I like him and that show-stopper looked brilliant.

Willowmartha1 · 29/09/2020 22:37

Rowan is entertaining ! Sura has such sarcastic facial expressions all the time.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 29/09/2020 22:56

I think the wrong person went today too.

HeddaGarbled · 29/09/2020 23:06

Mak didn’t follow the brief for the show-stopper. Everyone else did moulded biscuits as requested but he chose to do flat ones because they were easier. It would have been wrong to let him get away with that.

Justmuddlingalong · 29/09/2020 23:10

Am I missing the link between the 3D biscuit challenge and the Viking boat?

5foot5 · 29/09/2020 23:31

It might be wrong of me but i am glad Rowan stayed in because he us entertaining and I want to see more of him.

Aldi do gorgeous florentines at Christmas

@dementedma You are not wrong. I was just saying to my sister that I always associate florentines with Christmas and I think it is probably because Aldi always have nice ones that I buy to go in Christmas stockings

I thought Rowan was gone too but @HeddaGarbled is right, Mak's showstopper didn't follow the brief.

I thought Laura's was a cop out balancing biscuits on a stand. Both Linda and Marc did the sensible thing and simplified their showstoppers but executed them very well. Rowan should take a leaf out of their books.

Dave had a stellar week and I really couldn't fault his bakes. I agree with PPs though, I am not warming to him either.

(P.s.: I thought he was an armoured security guy, like a Securicor man, rather than armed security.)

My top choices at the moment are Sura and Peter, though Lottie's bakes are promising too.

Can't wait for next week, bread week is always my favourite.

MaggieFS · 30/09/2020 06:31

Pleased to have found this, catching up has got me through the night feeds! I'm very glad it's back.

I was uncertain about how it would work with Matt, but I think it's going well. Similar actually to when Noel started.

I think Lottie has a good wit, but it's a shame for her she got that handshake (the first one?) as it won't help the cynics not peg her as Hollywood's favourite.

I thought the intro for Tim Henman said armed not armoured? But are armed guards even allowed in the UK? Certainly explains why he looked annoyed but kept his cools during the flu swat incident.

EnjoyingTheSilence · 30/09/2020 07:04

I think Roman is on his last chance. If he tries to make something complicated again next week he’s gone. He’s had two warnings now.

Love the Mr Men inspired tea set

ppeatfruit · 30/09/2020 08:45

Sooo I recorded it and watched half, (it's an hour ahead here, so I get too tired). I predicted that Mak would go. His quarantine's were crap.

Lottie deserved the handshake hers looked good and obviously tasted the best. Some of the others seem to think that unusual additions to their bakes make them better, which, of course, is not necessarily true. I have never tasted pink chocolate, what do they put in it to make it pink? Are macaroons biscuits?

ppeatfruit · 30/09/2020 08:47

How come we've gone over 500 posts? Is it new policy on MN now?
