..and now I wish i'd spread them out Sad

So many series at the moment just have unlikable characters. I like everyone one here despite their flaws.

Anyone watched yet?

I've watched the first 4, I really like Rita

loutypips · 15/08/2020 21:39

What language is it in?

SomeHalfHumanCreatureThing · 15/08/2020 21:40

Danish

SomeHalfHumanCreatureThing · 15/08/2020 21:41

Have you seen Hjørdis? @WaxOnFeckOff

WaxOnFeckOff · 15/08/2020 21:43

Worth a watch, they've kept the atmosphere quite well I think.

Yes, still only 1 series?

Also liked Bonus Family.

SomeHalfHumanCreatureThing · 15/08/2020 21:44

I think so, yeah. Wish there was more of this kind of TV.

WaxOnFeckOff · 15/08/2020 21:48

Yes, not a thriller or crappy comedy, just decent characters and gentle story line.

I eventually got round to watching This is Us on Amazon, i'd put it off as wasn't enamoured with the advert picture - didn't really grab me. Anyway, I did watch it all and at times was quite gripped but I found myself disliking virtually all the characters by the end.

OP posts:
SomeHalfHumanCreatureThing · 15/08/2020 21:50

This Is Us does get pretty annoying. I've seen all of it though.

Guilty of rewatching Gilmore Girls recently, just for the easy storyline. I'm a massive fan of the scandi noir, and still haven't seen all of The Killing, but it's just a bit heavy at the moment.

Please Like Me on Amazon Prime is a wonderful series, highly recommend that

WaxOnFeckOff · 15/08/2020 21:54

Thanks for the recommendation, i'll have a look at that.

We are also watching The Money Heist as a family. I hate watching anything dubbed so it's switched back to Spanish and subtitles on. :)

WaxOnFeckOff · 15/08/2020 22:00

Offspring is good if you've not seen it.

And Parenthood but not sure if that's on anywhere at then moment.

OP posts:
SuddenArborealStop · 15/08/2020 22:47

Love Rita and offspring, couldn't get into parenthood but I think it had a storyline too similar to my life at the time.
Try life in pieces on amazon for more uncomplicated watching.

WaxOnFeckOff · 15/08/2020 22:57

Ah, thanks, I started Life in pieces and then lost my place and never went back to it, I should give it another go.

I hate dubbed at well. Dark is OK, but a bit long winded tbh.

Another excellent one on Netflix is Stateless. Not the cheeriest watch, but so great.

Random recommendation, but have you seen The Minimalists? Cleared my head in a great way.

SomeHalfHumanCreatureThing · 16/08/2020 00:45

Let me know what you think of Please Like Me. It's one of my favorites and have watched it through so many times.

Ooh, Upright. It's on Now TV. Superb

mrwalkensir · 17/08/2020 20:21

forced myself to stop after two episodes last night - it's definitely back on form. Makes up for finishing this series of Snowpiercer!

Now on season 3 of Please Like Me. I wasn't sure for the first couple of episodes but it's very easy watching. I've also watched the Minimalists and i've just had a look at Stateless and it looks like something i'd like - we clearly have similar taste :)

Oh that's great!

I thought of another one.. Have you seen Parks & Recreation? (prime)

WaxOnFeckOff · 18/08/2020 19:13

yeah, I started that and it didn't grab me. I've got to the stage in life where I don't want to waste time watching stuff that isn't doing it for me :)

Bit of a change of theme but have you watched Godless? Don't be put off by the fact it's a western.

OP posts:
SomeHalfHumanCreatureThing · 18/08/2020 19:30

Yeah, the first season of Parks is a bit crap tbh. It does get better

Not heard of Godless, I'll have a look.

WaxOnFeckOff · 18/08/2020 19:31

I find that a lot with some of these comedy series, they either take a while to warm up, or are really good then drop off.

OP posts:
WaxOnFeckOff · 18/08/2020 19:54

Also the Goldbergs, think on Channel 4 boxsets

OP posts:
SomeHalfHumanCreatureThing · 18/08/2020 21:01

We love the Goldbergs, it's great

Rediscovered Malcolm in the Middle (perfect to watch with my boys). Don't think it's on catch up though

iwantavuvezela · 29/08/2020 23:20

I’m absolutely loving it - making myself slow down on Watching it to make it last .....

celtiethree · 30/08/2020 22:08

I’ve just binged watched up until start of season 4. It’s great.

Nearly everything I watch at the moment seems to be sub titled. Money heist was excellent!!
