Err right. I saw it. Bit confusing but I'll have a go...
Man found dead in caravan who everyone thought had done it, well, Nicky established that he'd been killed and then it was made to look like he'd hanged himself. Traces of 'police issue' CS spray used around his eyes. So Nicky suspicious of retired policeman, who's daughter's remains had been found.
Policemans daughter who's bones had been found...turns out she'd been 5 months pregnant (they found some fetal bones as well). Her dad and she had argued about the pregnancy and her family had always suspected Woods (the hanged chap) was somehow responsible for her death. (We later find out that the dad knew the identity of the man who had made his daughter pregnant - it was Liam Clegg who is in prison)
Nicky thought the ex policeman dad must have murdered Woods in revenge for his daughter, so he was hauled in for questioning.
Then no, it wasn't the dad, it was his son. He admitted murdering Woods (got cs spray from his dad) cos he thought the man had killed his sister and wrecked his family.
Nicky is still trying to find out about the other missing traveller girl, Floria. (The two girls knew each other we discover) Floria's mum is long term mentally ill in hospital. Mum's boyfriend Liam Clegg in prison. Turns out he was like a father to Floria and hadn't killed her. But he had made the other girl - her friend - pregnant during a drunken one night stand.
DI (who looks like Ricky Jervais) had trumped up load of extra charges against Liam Clegg as a favour to retired policeman. This meant Liam would stay in jail for longer and be punished for making the policemans daughter pregnant. While he was in prison Floria went off the rails and with no-one to look after her was kicked out of the traveller community by the chap in charge. She had nowhere to go.
Nicky suspected something dodgy going on and thought the DI (Ricky Jervais guy) was the murderer. Accuses him. He denies it. Nicky, in a state, goes to talk it over with the lawyer chap. He is sympathetic, but while she's there Nicky notices plants in his garden, the seeds of which were on the soil around the bones. He is the murderer. Both girls had gone to him for help and he had killed them because they wouldn't let him have his wicked way with them. Woods did not kill them, but he had helped the lawyer dipose of the bodies, so that's why the bones were near his caravan. Lawyer had buried them in his garden near the forsythia plant then Woods had helped him re-bury them, or bits of them, elsewhere. Quite why he was willing to help, I couldn't work out.
Aaanyway..Big scuffle. Lawyer tries to kill Nicky too. DI (Ricky Jervais lookalike) has worked it out as well and arrives in time to save the day. Nicky still has a low opinion of him though, as he had bent the rules to punish Liam Clegg who had spent a long time in prison on trumped up charges.
Blimey charlie - I'm getting there...
Harry's insurance case paid up in full in the end and the dad and daughter were pleased. Harry had established a blood donor with cjd had infected lots of people, including the Indian lady, but that it was all being covered up so the insurance company wouldn't have to pay up. He threatened to expose the scam and they coughed up.
Sorry, not good with characters names, so I've probably confused everyone even more.
