Yes, I know I'm 12 years behind the times, but Breaking Bad?

I don't generally watch a lot of TV but times have changed.

I've watched 4 episodes of Breaking Bad and at times have literally had to hold on to my stomach and watch through my fingers. I sat through Ozark earlier in lockdown and didn't much enjoy the gore and violence in that but it seemed almost trivial in comparison to what I've seen in BB so far.

But so many people say it's the best TV series ever made. Should I continue?

No Spoilers Please!

Definitely up there with the best shows I've ever seen, I love Better Call Saul even more I think!

Best thing I have ever watched.

If only I could erase it from my brain and watch it again.

Dh and I both agree it's the best TV we've ever seen. We were hooked from the off. I love it when you despise characters, then love them, then despise them again. I was definitely that way with Skylar and Walt. Hank and Mike are lovely characters. There are so many sucker punch moments that you don't see coming! I was bereft when it ended.

The movie isn't great but it ties some loose ends.

Better Call Saul is slower but it's an interesting slow burn story of mainly one character and I likes seeing the BB characters again.

I'm now on Season 3 episode 6 and apparently half way through the whole lot.

I'm quite enjoying it but obviously not addicted as I haven't binged and can go a day or two without watching.

I think it's a bit tricksy (all the flash forwards) and unsubtle (Jessie in the crack house) and unbelievable (Skylar goes back to work after a couple of weeks and her baby goes with her and spends the whole day in a car seat except when it isn't convenient to include the baby in the scenes).

Still looking forward to being convinced.

I'm behind the times too. On series 3. I do like it, but don't understand the adoration and everyone saying it is the best tv ever. Also don't find it that violent

Same here. It's OK. It's something to watch. I'm currently one episode past The Fly. But I've been far more gripped by so many more things than this (Locked In (probably still the best thing I've ever seen)/ Designated Survivor/How to Get Away with Murder) to name but a few.

I do like the way Jesse's character is developing though.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 01/07/2020 19:59

Yep. It's ok and something to watch.

Am waiting for the "OMG it's the best thing that's ever been on TV!" moment to hit me with great anticipation.

Oh yes, Gus. He reminds me of Anita in Humans - there is something mesmerisingly robotic about him.

bottlenose301 · 01/07/2020 22:40

I recently watched the whole thing because of all the rave reviews. I really like the concept but I did find it quite slow at times. I enjoyed it but wasn't really gripped. Still, a good watch.

And I love Gus!

Updating, for my own records as much as anything.

I'm about to watch the final episode of season 5a. I think that means there's 9 episodes left for me.

So I've watched a total of 53 episodes since 4th June. 53 episodes in 51 days.

It's a gentle binge. There have only been a couple of times when I've had to roll on and watch the next one.

In conclusion, it's interesting enough but not fantastic. Imho. I feel I somehow know the ending, and somehow I've managed to avoid spoilers by not googling anything.

I'm now at the point where I just want to know how it all pans out. I still don't give a toss about any of the characters, not even Jesse really.
