That blue theme... It really annoys me now I noticed it!!

2Rebecca · 30/05/2020 20:30

Why if Chris E is the father of Jo's mum and it was his girlfriend's son getting married was his BIL at the wedding but not his daughter? That seemed very odd.

2Rebecca · 30/05/2020 20:31

SIL/exSIL not BIL

2Rebecca · 30/05/2020 20:31

Son in law

2Rebecca · 30/05/2020 20:48

Why do all the women in this have to be batshit? Joe's dad's new girlfriend is stupidly mental. No real people are like that

2Rebecca · 30/05/2020 20:51

The 2 Downs Syndrome actors are the only realistic people in this

AttackoftheVapours · 02/06/2020 18:00

@Wonderbag I noticed the teal theme in this and also In State of Happiness. Couldn’t find anything about these two shows but apparently blue was used a lot in Billions as it denotes power.

Candlefairy101 · 02/06/2020 21:03

I struggle to watch this because every scene has the colour BLUE EVERYWHERE, I get about 5 minutes in and once I've seen the blue I can unsee it! Drives me crazy

diddl · 02/06/2020 21:54

I think that the only ones I like are the Granddad & Eddie!

Just watched a few mins of the first ep.

So the daughter went travelling or to Uni?

Either way, it's obvious what will happen when she said that life doesn't always turn out how you think.

How predictable!

Is there any soap angle that hasn't be covered?

sonsmum · 03/06/2020 12:27

I hadn't noticed the filtering of colours, but will now look for this!
I for one really enjoy the series, the fact that we are seeing disabilities on tv and not reality tv wannabee sterotypes.
Some have physical disabilities and some more behavioural. Sarah, the dads love interest is just brilliant!! Her expressions and mannerisms. It's like she is is portraying thoughts/feelings/emotions that so many of us hide! She has me and my DH burst out laughing at times. She is so natural with her acting and I appreciate her!!
They're tackling key topics in a humourous way. I felt for the dad trying to will himself for Joe to go with Mark, when many parents will feel a bit scared about entrusting their kid to someone else aside from a teacher if not done before/regularly, and Mark would have more risk than others.
I think the dynamics between all the characters are great. I like Louise's bossy manner and also Morris's directness and desire to do whats right. I see the difficulties of Joe's parents situation and also the daughters fear over her own baby.
Every kid is different, autism or not, and I think this portrays many elements in an entertaining way and I say very well done for trying to break down stereotypes and giving these young actors/actresses a chance is brilliant. Ralphs smile.....would melt anyone!

Ah a blue/teal & brown themed wedding Grin

@2Rebecca, it makes sense he’s there as he lives in the community and they’re all friends. It’s part of Joes life in the Lakes.
