Surprised to see there is a second series of this family drama.

I did get caught up in series 1 and fell for the misdirection. Blush

I wonder were series 2 can go?

(I think it is on every evening in the coming week)

(and i did say series 1 was avialable to watch Sad )

I am watching but am so confused as to why there is only one detective questioning her. Surely that cannot be right?

Optimist1 · 30/04/2020 08:46

I think I'm disappointed in series 2. In the first one, although lots of things happened they were all related to Jim's control and manipulation of people and facts. In this one we have a combination of drugs, unhappy marriages, detective with a grudge and no colleagues , murder and a little bit of lesbianism. All apparently unconnected, and I defy the scriptwriters to tie them all together before the series ends.

I will watch remaining episodes, though!

stumbledin · 30/04/2020 13:15

Agreed, they have lost the very personal tensions and family drama and turned it into a run of the mill crime series.

And last night's developments are just too over the top.

Last two episodes tonight. Won't be able to watch in real time, so must avoid this thread will I've caught up.

Sharpkat · 01/05/2020 22:07

I am watching but won't comment until others have watched it. All I can say is WTAF.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/05/2020 23:06

Free feel to comment

Once shown on tv it’s fair game

I’m at work tonight so won’t watch till tomorow

But will avoid this thread till seen

thenightsky · 01/05/2020 23:07

WTF here too. I think I must have missed something.

Optimist1 · 02/05/2020 13:27

Grim, the lot of them! (Even the kids were getting on my nerves in this last instalment).

stumbledin · 02/05/2020 15:50

Think this is probably one of those that should never have had a second series.

The first was far better, with the final plot twist.

This was neither a proper family drama, nor a proper crime series.

I thought the actor playing the violent sil was good. One moment whimpering about his terrible life and the next showing his anger. But just cant remember him in the first series or if any of this was indicated. And as for his mother!!!!!!!!

And so obvious that the actor playing the son and the actress playing the second daughter (was it even the same woman?) just didn't really want to be in it, and did a sort of token apprearance in one episode. Many of the scenes in the first series that were so good, were between the three of them.

Nothing rang true. Everything was just a plot device to make a cliff hanger ending of each episode.

I got confused

So hubby tried to kill self - fil rescued him?

And wife killed him ?

Silly storyline

Tigertrees · 08/05/2020 00:41

I've just watched both series in a matter of days so feeling very invested in it all! I'd wondered if there would be a series from the perspective of each sibling.

stumbledin · 08/05/2020 13:59

Hi Tigertrees. As you watched back to back did series 2 seem very different to series 1?

OP posts:
horsemadgal · 08/05/2020 23:27

I loved both series but yes very different.
And yes Kat was the same actress. I think she just brushed her hair Grin

stumbledin · 08/05/2020 23:41

Thanks horsemadgal for comment about series difference, and well observed difference in Kat!!!

Tigertrees · 09/05/2020 00:45

They did but I thought it was interesting - I didn't really want to see any more of the original scenario so was glad the direction changed.
It was more far fetched certainly.
I wondered what poison was used - was it just pain killers? As I would not have thought they would have that effect on someone, and so fast!

CiderWithRosy · 09/05/2020 23:06

Really enjoyed it. Thought the brother in law played an excellent part. I, as previous poster also mentioned, wondered what poison she used. I also wondered why there was only 1 detective questioning. Are the rules different in Ireland?

vjg13 · 10/05/2020 13:17

I did watch the first series but need a quick plot recap of it. Had the Mother died accidentally? TIA Smile

rosegoldwatcher · 10/05/2020 17:50

@vjg13 - The mother slipped and bashed her head on a stone frog. Father was about to ring for an ambulance but she begged him to finish her off. So, reluctantly he stopped her breath.

vjg13 · 10/05/2020 18:03

Thanks, will tackle series 2 this week.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/05/2020 12:36

So can anyone actually tell me what s2 was about and who killed him in the boot

One was good. Mercy killing as ill

Whitestick · 11/05/2020 12:38

I'm nervous of putting the entire plot of season 2 on as there isn't a spoiler thingy in the title
