Anyone watching?

OP posts:
InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 21/04/2020 23:29

I hope Katie Price does well as I think she needs it. It is such a pity what she has done to her face though - really ruined herself sadly.

Agreed, would love to see Ant on Strictly.

EsmeShelby · 22/04/2020 13:16

I agree that the swearing was unnecessary. It distracts from what they are doing.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 05/05/2020 18:20

I thought that they were way too soft on Joey and hard on Lauren.

And she asked him if he was ok when he came back in from the hut but nothing was coming back from him.

She did try. Yes she has to switch to team mode but she is trying harder than he is.

I’d have been raging at Joey making a noise when I was trying to sleep in a 12 man room. Been there done that.

I’m sorry that he lost his mum but I also think he and some others of his tv kin act entitled and special and have also come across as bloody vindictive and nasty when they don’t get their own way..

Deathraystare · 05/05/2020 19:16

Felt very sorry for the 9st woman (DJ?) carrying the 17 stone guy (boxer?). I would have collapsed right away and I am only 2-3 stone lighter than him!

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 05/05/2020 19:30

I’ve done similar in my prime - I could do it but not for long. Now? I’m a person heavier and I reckon my knees would buckle.

I’m no longer fighting fit and my body would seriously let me down here.

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 05/05/2020 20:54

Completely agree @AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff - they were much harder on Lauren than Joey. I didn't know his backstory about his mum and do feel sorry for him for that but he just seems so entitled and spoilt and to me it comes across that Lauren isn't 'his type' so he doesn't even bother trying with her in that typical mysoginistic bloke way that happens.

Godzillasonice · 06/05/2020 11:18

I watch this with my dd and she was raging at the TV how they were favouring Joey. She also pointed out how ant seems to have it in for the women this time. I think some of the others in charge thought he was being unfair on her.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 06/05/2020 12:06

JE was an arrogant knob with his ta-tas on towie and he does not appear to have changed.

All that balonz about him not being thick was for Lauren to pamper his ego by assuring him that he isn’t.

He may not be think but he is, in my opinion, a cosseted little princess with a big nasty streak. All out on show in towie and this.

I’m disappointed that the lads have gone team Joey so obviously. I wouldn’t have wanted him shoulder to shoulder with me.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 06/05/2020 12:07

He may not be thick

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 06/05/2020 12:08

And so what about all his followers? Means feckall.

MrsJoshNavidi · 06/05/2020 12:10

My late husband was in the SAS. I'm not watching but often wonder what he's make of these programmes...

My ex Bootneck DH won't watch it.

I love that a one armed, absolutely tiny, female Paralympian is doing better than a lot of the men Grin.

HappyStep1 · 06/05/2020 17:25

I'm glad others felt they were harsher on Lauren than Joey, I thought it was just me!

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 06/05/2020 18:08

It disappointed me a tad as they are usually not too bad on assessing folk.

Ever the gentlemanHmm JE has not defended her on his Twitter. Folk saying she is a nag, a moan, picking on him etc and he is mute. Surprising when he usually has such a lot to say ...

Also saying he has gone up in their estimation.

Not in mine I’m afraid.

BlindyPeakers · 06/05/2020 21:55

Agree about the unfair treatment of Lauren vs Joey.

Also a bit surprised by Ant and the doctor fawning over John Fashanu after he had been culled.

DishRanAwayWithTheSpoon · 06/05/2020 22:28

I thought they were really harsh on Lauren. She was right, what was she supposed to do? They set the scenario up for that narrative and so had to get it to fit.

She was clearly annoyed as Joey refused to adapt to her missing an arm, and she was constantly having to tell him she couldnt do it this way because she was missing a fucking arm. He was humiliating her.

He put no effort in. If she hadnt 'nagged' him they would have got nowhere becauae he was doing things like expecting her to lift the weight of the entire log with one arm. Conpetitive jealousy my fucking arse.

The other teams did better because the men were pulling their weight.

I also felt really bad for the woman having to carry the boxer guy. Its doubly harsh as shes got to do a task about 4x as hard and then they are going to be more exhausted

AgeLikeWine · 06/05/2020 22:37

I’m looking forward to Tony Bellew exploding and beating the crap out of Little Ant. He really has got the worst case of Small Man Syndrome I have ever seen.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 06/05/2020 22:40

I would settle for him nutting JE....

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 07/05/2020 22:57

Again, totally agree @AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff Grin

alittlecloudfloatinginthesky · 08/05/2020 11:12

Yes!!

Joey picks up his end of the log, and then stands there waiting for Lauren to pick up the other end... Instead of working together to lift it at the same time.

I have a lot of respect for Lauren Steadman, she seems really lovely from what I've seen of her on other programs and on Instagram etc (and on this program, giving the big guys a hug and helping them to calm down when they're getting too worked up), as well as clearly being a very driven individual who sets goals and goes for them with 100% effort and doesn't give up until she gets there.

I'm sure she can be a bit 'bossy' when working in a team, but she'll be used to working with people who are equally as driven and motivated as herself, so will be used to that being an effective way to communicate in that environment... But Joey Essex isn't going to take being told what to do from a small female well, even if it means failing.
She had to ask repeatedly for him to put his hand on her back in the carrying challenge, she wouldn't have had to if he had just done as asked the first time!

I won't even start on the subject of him being noisy when everyone else was trying to sleep!!

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 08/05/2020 11:37

The only time I get bossy or naggy is when some article is being half arsed or completely idle.

Also, The chuppy muttering when she asked him to be quiet so that others can sleep did not go unnoticed.

He says he isn’t thick. That’s as maybe. But to be told many times to do something and still not doing it would have wanted me to plant my boot up his arse.

And saying ‘you should have asked for help to tie your laces’ and her quietly saying ‘ I did ask’ Sad

I’d have wanted her alongside me every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Him? I wouldn’t rely on him ever.

He’d be fuckall use out in the wilds anyway. His teeth would give him away.

FabulouslyElegantTits · 08/05/2020 15:49

He has got a peevish spiteful streak, and who ever said he wouldn't have bothered being nice to her as 'she's not his type' is spot on.

He lived with Sam Faiers who said he was controlling and nasty.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 08/05/2020 15:53

I’m inclined to believe that. She always looked anxious to me when she was with him.

She seems a totally different lass with Big Paul.

LizzieMacQueen · 09/05/2020 09:09

Best bit. When the doctor says to John Fashanu, "I'll take your number" and John finds paper/starts to write down his mobile number.

I (ever the romantic) was hoping Lauren & Joey would couple up.

CasparBloomberg · 09/05/2020 09:30

I was furious watching the Lauren - Joey episode (catch up so a bit behind).
Totally felt sexist. Lauren told to stop being assertive by telling her she’s a nag. Joey completely let off for his arrogance and refusal to work as a team. Cannot believe we are still allowing attitudes like that to be reinforced and women made to feel like they need to back off.
That beasting was also made to be worse for the women - there was no way that was ever designed to be fair.
This programme needs its attitudes bringing into the 21st century.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 09/05/2020 09:50

I did laugh at that lizzie Grin bless!

I can’t agree on the romance though.

She deserves better than him. Anyone does.

I pity the fool that gets lumbered with him.
