For all his flaws Joe is weirdly likeable, whereas Carole comes across badly on camera.
The show implies she uses her charity status to do what the other Big cat enthusiasts are doing, own lots of big cats for her own enjoyment. The sanctuary appeared to have poor facilities for the animals. If Carole can show that the enclosures are appropriate and spacious for the animals and that her charity is all above board and volunteers are fairly treated I think this would change people's opinion of her.

If you read the big cat rescue refute, linked to above, it makes for interesting reading and she appears to have the receipts.
RuPaul always says there's no such thing as a bad edit eg she posed for that wedding photo, she mentioned sardine oil etc *but' everyone who works in tv knows how things can be framed, well juxtaposed, out of context.
I don't think she comes across well on camera and I do think that she is guilty of hypocrisy up until 2004 but from then on, her record and conscience can be cleaner than the others.
The only question I would have had would have been whether she could have taken tigers in lieu of the settlement Joe owed but given he had refused to stop cub petting and breeding as then he would have no revenue, I doubt he would have handed any of the tigers over to her. Plus one could argue her long game was to have it shut down entirely and if he signed over lifestock to his mum/Jeff and no longer in his name then she could not take them.
She has every right to be angry though if the directors have framed an annual fundraiser as normal footfall to her sanctuary when it isn't, if they have put up an industrial sized Kingsman 2 type meat grinder into shot knowing full well she doesn't have one like that and if they have shot scenes of her sanctuary from the front, knowing the cages extend out back and there are free-roaming acres.
I'd be suing.

I can completely understand the hate surrounding Carol. She started off keeping cats for “pets” and breeding them purely for money. Furthermore she strikes me as a “bunny boiler” type. Not sure if she killed her 2nd husband but I’m convinced she knows if he is dead or alive.

What does however surprise me is that the same level of hatred does not surround Joe. He’s a predator who married young vulnerable men whom he admitted to knowing were “straight”. Travis was not even allowed to leave the zoo! Furthermore he killed and buried five big cats. Not to mention all of the animal trafficking he was caught up in. Not exactly admirable!

As for Doc, he was extremely disconcerting. Another predator who abused his position of “power” to take advantage of young women.

@Meetmeinfantasyland Whether she was or wasn’t, it does look like Don was cruising that night. He was really persistent with her and that made it look like he was expecting someone to get in his car.

Doc is dark. I get the worse vibe from him. Such a massive abuser and essentially a cult leader.

This show really had it all didnt it. . Joe is absolutely an animal abuser and theres footage out there of him hitting the tigers to scare them into compliance. He is oddly compelling to listen to and is an odd one. He even admits to everything he did. As someone said he started off loving the animals and then he got the money and fame and he loved that even more.

Carole definitely knows what happened to Don. But im not convinced he is dead. At all. (well maybe now but not at the time of his disappearance.)

Doc Antle is awful and a preditory cult leader.

Jeff lowe and his wife lauren are also creepy preditors the way they talk about the nanny is utterly disgusting.

I don't think she did. Her amused, eye rolling reaction to the idea was very odd.....as if she knew he was alive and could afford to laugh about the idea of killing him.
I think he faked his 'death' as part of his criminal activities, and her keeping quiet got her all the money 'on the books'.

I've just started watching this after hearing about it everywhere. I'm not convinced that CB killed her husband. It sounds like some crazy story that those horrible, misogynistic men have made up about her in an attempt to tarnish her reputation and move the focus from them. Joe comes across as a horrible man and I don't understand how anyone can be sympathetic towards him.
