Not sure if it’s a repeat but just watching this on Ch 4 and wondering how on earth they’re all coping in lockdown?!
I’m struggling with 4 of us here 24/7 Grin

They were just mentioned on the Jeremy Vine show as being self sufficient. They may be now but I know a few years ago they weren't as they were claiming tax credits.

Surely it's not possible for them to even know very much about every single child …. covering the basics, yes, but what about their fears, friendship worries, school problems, all the other stuff that comes with raising children. It's sad.

paininthepoinsettia · 08/04/2020 16:10

@TreeTopTim of course they are still getting TC. They claim the bakery makes just shy of £50k (and it seems to employ half of the family), but they go on long haul holidays every year to Australia and America. I'm good at making money stretch, but not that good. I don't care if they get them btw, it's just so tiresome and smug of them to gloat about being self sufficient when they clearly aren't.

TheChosenTwo · 09/04/2020 12:57

I think the tv company must pay to send them on these holidays. Otherwise a trip to Australia for them all would cost more than their entire annual bakery income!

As a family of seven, I really struggled getting enough of some food during the restrictions.
I had to go to several supermarkets to get enough of things like spaghetti. It was quite difficult so I don’t know how they managed.

@paininthepoinsettia I feel the same as you. It don't care if they get any benefits but it annoys me when they pretend that they don't.
