I'm just under the impression that doc, joe and the cat rescue lady are all in on it, so that joe's husband can get the dental work he needs paid for by Netflix.

ditavonteesed · 05/04/2020 18:58

It's amazing, on episode 3 and I can't believe it's real it's so utterly crackers.

Greenpop21 · 05/04/2020 19:04

That Dr (???) guy? WTH?

Icanflyhigh · 05/04/2020 19:15

The memes coming out of it are legendary!!

ItchyScratch · 05/04/2020 21:46

Aw I feel so sad for those little cubs being passed around like a bag of sweets

Ivebeentohellanditscalledikea · 05/04/2020 23:27

Watching it now. It's insane. Horrible how they take the babies away from the mum as soon as they are born by dragging them out the cage with a stick.

bakedbeanzontoast · 06/04/2020 06:39

@Alyic me too. I'm not sure what the fuss is about with the show but I was just getting annoyed the whole time with the animal abuse.

Greenpop21 · 06/04/2020 08:33

@bakedbeanzontoast how many episodes have you seen?

EricaNernie · 06/04/2020 08:36

i couldnt deal with it, far too long, i saw one episode and a bit of episode 2 , unbelievable crazy people, but I may watch the Louis Theroux

Greenpop21 · 06/04/2020 08:37

Greenpop21 · 06/04/2020 08:37

bakedbeanzontoast · 06/04/2020 16:10

@Greenpop21 I watched 3. I didn't see any evidence of animals being treated right by any of the people so just found myself getting too irate lol

TheChosenTwo · 08/04/2020 00:04

The music videos made me Shock
He’s like a real life David Brent!!

RarePackOfLooRoll · 08/04/2020 00:17

I.couldnt stomach it. I must be the only person on the world it seemsGrin.
The cruelty and the animal abuse took the shine off the bellends that started on it for me.
I've just tried episodes 2 and 3 tonight but nah!

InglouriousBasterd · 09/04/2020 02:22

I’ve just binge watched the whole thing and suspect I’m in for some very strange dreams...

Deathraystare · 11/04/2020 08:34

Don't have Netflix so did not know what it was all about. However a snippet was on Gogglebox yesterday. There are no words.....

Gallade · 11/04/2020 16:04

I have loved this truly batshit program Grin

I've never seen anything like it. Definitely took my mind off other stressful things!

Gallade · 11/04/2020 16:04

Also did anyone else notice how Joe's first husband turned up with a full rack of teeth in the final episode!

Thatbitchcarolebaskin · 11/04/2020 16:08

@Icanflyhigh you called? Grin

Begsy · 12/04/2020 20:39

New episode on Netflix- getting kids to bed!.
Happy Easter 🐣 all - nothing else to do...x

LizzieMacQueen · 13/04/2020 13:55

The thing that struck me was Carole Baskin's disappeared husband had married his 1st wife when she was 14!

I recall watching a tv show which said one way to avoid being prosecuted for having sex with a minor (in certain US states) was to get married. Yeah, all batshit!

ellenanora5 · 18/04/2020 22:57

Place marking, I'm on episode two, wtf is this, I'll keep watching it's weirdly fascinating

WafflesandPancakess · 18/04/2020 23:15

I think Joe comes across (slightly) better in the Louis Theroux documentary.

I think Carole Baskin is the best of them all though, although she obviously treats her staff badly I think she does care about animals. The show glossed over all of that and basically destroyed her.

The sardine oil thing- I think it’s more likely the producer asked her ‘What would you cover someone in’ or something along those lines and she’s just answered.

Joe harrassed her for years because they were trying to ban breeding and trading tigers. I don’t think she killed her husband.

It is entertaining but mostly it highlighted the terrible poverty in the US and horrendous treatment of animals.

Sittinonthefloor · 18/04/2020 23:28

We tried to watch - & the people were weirdly compelling but it was so sad seeing the beautiful cats in cages and I felt a bit voyeuristic and grubby really. Kind of complicit. Not sure I want to watch any more.
