There is/was an investigation into Amber’s death - they mentioned in yesterday’s episode that a witness had come forward and said they saw her jump - the investigation would be handled by a different department.

diddl · 01/04/2020 09:00

"and just took off hoping he would get into trouble."

But why leave her daughter?

stumbledin · 01/04/2020 14:56

But why leave her daughter?

oh dear - you are right! doesn't say much about my maternal instincts!

Sorry I am so bad at names, but the Hugo Speer character (lead detective) making that phone call at the end of yesterday's episode doesn't sound like a call to a mistress but someone he is working with. So maybe it is something about witness protection?

As to him looking rough, I assumed he was made to look like that as part of him not really being on top of things. Bet if he was attending a premiere or photoshoot, he would be all spruced up and dapper.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/04/2020 22:45

Why doesn’t he just say to his team it’s witness protection etc

The way he said he wouldn’t make official yet. They should have said make official and meantime you can explain to higher up the phone and lady

Double bluff

And yes witness said amber jumped

Memory vague but didn’t his wife dissapeer from a party - something to do with handbag that amber found

Tho he does seem to care about his stepdaughter esp after being sick on whiskey

Amber stole the bag from their house - it was implied that Amber may have murdered her but it wasn’t confirmed

stumbledin · 02/04/2020 14:33

Surely trying to intimidate your juniors by saying you will start some procedural action against them, would be out ranked by the accusations that he lied to the investigating team about where he was when his wife disappeared.

Tagging these bits on are now getting silly.

Like the way there's no violence.
Love TDC Billie Fitzgerald's blank stare when listening to BS - going to practise that myself, feel I might it in RL!

stumbledin · 04/04/2020 16:30

Well I am glad they managed to include nearly every one of our different suggestions into the final episode. Though dont think any of us thought that the wife had been kidnapped to be an unpaid nanny.

I suspected that the person dressed as police was not one, but cant work out who would have sent them. Do we know anything about the case that the witness protection was about. And would the Chief Detective of a totally different squad be the liason officer?

Dont think it was that good, a bit stilted and styalised. But love looking all the differnt parts of London.

And clever that they do all of this with just a 4 person team!

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/04/2020 18:18

Don’t think we know anything about the case and witness protection

Tho also not sure why he couldn’t have told his male partner where he was

I've enjoyed these 2 series but was left wondering......Why was the daughter so stuck on not trusting her step Dad and believing he'd harmed her Mum? Also why didnt she mention her Mum had lost a baby when she was asking Viv to help her? Why hadn't David told the Missing Persons team about the baby loss?
And why do CPR on someone who you've just said is alive?
Why was the gun posted to the dodgy bloke and why did he handle it?

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/04/2020 18:44

Yes I said about the cpr lol
