Just started again on Netflix, 1st episode today, another tomorrow and then weekly. It's a bit agonising to have to wait between episodes but I prefer it - makes me appreciate it more!

Good first episode I thought - I was suprised that he gave in to the guy in the shopping mall. Anyone else watched?

Anyone seen last nights ep? Another confusing ending for me but still loving it!

The commercial was hilarious, I thought the Masa Verde boss was going to have a heart attack!

LittleRootie · 25/03/2020 18:13

Haven't had a chance to watch it yet so i'm not even going to read all your post Nowifi until I have..! Grin Hopefully be able to later if ds isn't logged in binge-watching a box set..

Surprised this isn't a more popular thread. Great to start seeing a bit of Kim's backstory!

MrsGrindah · 25/03/2020 20:19

Does anyone remember a reference to Saul having a wife or partner in Breaking Bad? I don’t so I keep wondering when the split is coming. To be honest in the early episodes of BCS I didn’t even twig they were a couple..thought they were just friends!

MrsGrindah · 25/03/2020 20:19

They do seem an unlikely couple

Nowifi · 26/03/2020 00:12

I never realised they were a couple at the beginning of the series either! I think we really don't see much of them as a couple aside from when they are discussing work!

ViserionTheDragon · 26/03/2020 00:19

I though the latest episode has to be one of the best.

The scenes with Howard and the prostitutes and Saul's Mesa Verde advert had me in stitches! I needed something to laugh about and that was it.

It was great to see Kim's back story and I hope we get to see more. I want paying attention before, but realised that she grew up in Nebraska and 'Gene' moved there. That can't be a coincidence, surely?

ViserionTheDragon · 26/03/2020 00:21

Mrs I believe he mentioned in BB that he was married.

Totally agree - had to wait three days to watch it and it was really worth it, loved it all. Great scene with the student film crew (the director is another fantastic minor character), great little scene with Nacho (awesome location), so full of meaning and when he said to Mike that they had 'a gun to my father's head' you could see the impact that had on Mike.

Brilliant tension in the boardroom scene as soon as Saul comes in, the shock of his betrayal of Kim and the build-up to the 4 million dollars announcement.

I also really loved the intro scene with young Kim, such perfect writing making clear the relationship between them, the failure of her Mother, the steel and the vulnerability in Kim's heart.

Really classic all round.

That's very perceptive of you Viserion - is there any chance Kim will appear at some point in Gene's story?

OP posts:
ViserionTheDragon · 28/03/2020 00:37

Agree with everything you said there, Little.

I would be worried for Kim if she showed up in Gene's story, as it's not looking good for him from what we have seen so far...

LittleRootie · 28/03/2020 15:42

Well he's clearly been tracked down but it was significant that he phoned the fixer to get himself moved again then changed his mind and said he would deal with it himself - this is Jimmy after all, he's talked and conned his way out of all kinds of situations!

To be honest in the early episodes of BCS I didn’t even twig they were a couple..thought they were just friends!

Same! In fact, I thought that was more of a believable relationship actually, a very close and loyal friendship between two people who are basically outsiders. I've never really believed in them as a loving couple - I don't see the physical chemistry.

OP posts:
ViserionTheDragon · 01/04/2020 15:19

I don't see the physical chemistry either, at least most of the time anyway.

Has anyone seen episode 7 (JMM)? What did everyone think?

A lot of the actors have really aged since BB haven't they? I know that would be inevitable, but it really shows on Giancarlo Esposito the most.

Also, Jimmy was married twice?! I'd like to know more about that....

UntamedWisteria · 01/04/2020 20:12

i find the aging of all the characters very distracting!

Luc1nda · 01/04/2020 21:46

I loved yesterday’s episode! I’m really going to miss this series when it ends.

Nowifi · 02/04/2020 00:08

I loved it too, kind of can ignore the ageing characters as the storylines are so good that you kind of forget!

At least Jimmy explained himself to Howard, finally. It seems he can't process his grief for Chuck.

NigellasGuest · 08/04/2020 13:37

Latest episode (the one after JMM) is FANTASTIC!! Best so far IMO

ViserionTheDragon · 08/04/2020 16:45

It's a close call NigellasGuest but yesterday's episode was amazing!

Nowifi · 08/04/2020 16:47

It was so good! How many episodes are there this season I wonder?

Nowifi · 14/04/2020 23:48

Anyone seen tonights ep? It was so tense! Every episode just gets better and better, it makes everything else on TV seem so crap in comparison!

thatone · 14/04/2020 23:59

I've just seen the latest episode - was awe-struck. So desperate to know what happens to Kim and Nacho.

thatone · 15/04/2020 00:00

Your right nowifi- it's in a different league to everything else.

Nowifi · 22/04/2020 00:32

Has anyone watched the finale? No spoilers but thought it was great! Can't wait for the final season whenever it gets made, it will be worth the wait that's for sure.

WeeM · 22/04/2020 00:33

Yes it was so good! What an ending!

thatone · 22/04/2020 11:00

That was tense, I couldn't even watch some of the Nacho scenes!
