I have been beyond excited. I've watched it. I wasn't "oh wow", but then I am in my fifties and haven't oh wowed about anything for a longer time.
Although I'm Still a bit excited at the prospect of seeing Seven of Nine later on (as per the trailer). And Patrick Stewart invited Whoopi Goldberg to be in the second season when he was on The View in the US (kind of like Loose Women). She was in TNG in case you don't know. But you do, don't you

When I watched it and saw what became of Picard & why after all the rumours leading up to it, I thought

I am keen on this but it annoys me that they don’t just put out the full season.

Also surprised to see this on Prime after Doscovery being in Netflix. Discovery was weird in that it was almost good but not quite.

Means those who don't have Prime can't just sign up for a free month, watch it, then split. If it's over 10 weeks they'll have to pay.

I thought the first episode set the scene well but can't wait to see Seven.

Indicates a lack of confident from Prime in their offering.

With Netflix, I would never cancel. The value is just too good because of the continual stream of good high quality content. If Prime got to that level I wouldn’t keep quitting it and going back to it when they have a rare good show.

My 16yr-old (who had never heard of JLP before ) started half-watching it when I put it on. Five minutes in and he'd switched off his tablet and was absolutely hooked.

@bellinisurge I’m not sure Captain Janeway - or Admiral as I imagine she would be by then, will appear. I would love to see the Doctor in Picard. I think Robert Picardo (🤩) is a great.

I'd hope to see Janeway make an appearance, especially as she was in a film as a cameo.

I want to see the Doctor back too and if Hugh is back, where is Icheb? Seven was close to Icheb so surely he is around if Hugh is with Seven.

Neither Kate Mulgrew or Robert picardo are on the series cast list.

Johnathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis are though.
