I've just started watching Home and Away on amazon prime from the very first episode (way back.. 1987)
Just wondering if there is anyone else watching as my whole family are taking the mick out of me but I want to discuss it with someone.
I have to say I'm hooked... Yeah its a bit hammy etc but there's good storylines great characters and for its time covered a wide range of hard hitting issues.. Ie domestic violence, sexual assault (there is the odd dodgy thing that they wouldn't get away with nowadays.. But it's of its time I guess in some ways)
Plus I have something of a bit of a crush on Alf Stewart 😳. To be fair he is like 2 years younger than my husband in the first series!

I now know what I am doing tonight! Grin

My room was covered in Dieter Brummer posters when I was growing up Blush

ShrimpyTheGnome · 26/02/2020 20:27

I'm on episode 6.

The Jellyfish incident! 😍

Lazydaisydaydream · 27/02/2020 19:38

Ohy goodness I need to watch these!! I still have the original home and away movie on VHS (before the TV show!) Blush

Strictly1972 · 27/02/2020 19:41

I remember watching the first ever episode at my friends house. I’m excited by the news I can watch them all over again. Thanks op!

KaptenKrusty · 27/02/2020 19:51

Holy crap - thanks for letting me know this was a thing! I’ve just stuck the pilot episode on. 😂

ShesGotBetteDavisEyes · 27/02/2020 19:55

I remember me and my mates being obsessed with it and discussing/re-enacting scenes from it the next day!
Does anyone remember the Mr Bertram storyline?!
I used to be jealous of the little checked dress they wore to school...

Strictly1972 · 27/02/2020 20:31

Hot choc, blanket, prime on.

Strictly1972 · 27/02/2020 22:35

How is it that seeing pippas kitchen on the tv is like being in my childhood home. I’m on episode 3.

Rockbird · 27/02/2020 22:41

You sods. I've just got around to watching the whole of Last Tango in Halifax and now you spring this on me! Although tbf I pretty much stopped watching it after the original Pippa left. The other one got on my tits. Grin

youngestisapsycho · 28/02/2020 10:47

I loved Home and Away when it first started... that's my life over now, watching all those again! Smile

youngestisapsycho · 28/02/2020 10:47

and yes... Neighbours from the beginning would be amazing!

ShrimpyTheGnome · 28/02/2020 15:25

Episode 32 here!

Devlesko · 28/02/2020 15:27

Aw, yes Pippa and the foster kids.
I can remember crying my eyes out when Bobby died, she was my favourite character.

Whenwillthewashingend · 28/02/2020 16:11

I'm really sad. I binged both the seasons over a few weeks.
It totally took me back. I just want them to upload series 3 now. I check every few days.

jackparlabane · 28/02/2020 16:45

Amazon Prime, you say?
Excuse me, I may be some time.

H&A still wins the award for most blatant changing an actress and character but pretending it never happened. Took us a week to believe that NewPippa was still Pippa and not a practical joke.

youngestisapsycho · 28/02/2020 16:46

I can’t find it on Prime!! Sad

youngestisapsycho · 28/02/2020 16:51

Panic over.... found it!

reallynow1 · 28/02/2020 16:54

Oh my word.....exciting days! I know what I am going to be watching next....

youngestisapsycho · 28/02/2020 17:21

The theme tune.... remembered every word!
