Anyone watching?

I love stuff like this.

Yes... us mothers must never use bad language around our babies. We must keep a smile on our face at all times!

I guess we shouldn't allow anyone to do IVF then. Why would people want to use their resources having a child of their own when they should put all their effort into helping others.

Honestly... this thread is absolutely batty. Roll on the next episode, hopefully Syler and Mo give us something to discuss again!!!

purpleme12 · 18/12/2019 12:09

👍

lazymum99 · 18/12/2019 13:15

LolaLollypop Agree. What started off as a light hearted discussion about a TV program has been hijacked by people with very extreme ideas.
Hopefully after tonights final episode normal service can resume.

SimonJT · 18/12/2019 13:33

I convinced myself it was on last night at 9pm, I was obviously having a brain fart as it took about fifteen minutes for the penny to drop Blush

TowelStripes · 18/12/2019 13:43

Isn't it a six part series? Think it's no4 tonight, isn't it?

lazymum99 · 18/12/2019 13:44

TV guide says part 4 of 4.

TowelStripes · 18/12/2019 13:49

Oh no! I was looking forward to seeing it over the next few weeks!

SleepingStandingUp · 18/12/2019 14:58

They have put their own rescources into it, which could have been directed elsewhere to support children who need help
So instead of spending £100 on the living room cot for example they should have given the money to a women's refuge say? Does the same go for anyone paying for IVF? It shouldn't be allowed but they should donate the thousands to Bliss instead? What about people who want more than 2? Should Family of 5 have been stopped at 2 but set up a regular payment to Sands to cover a lifetime expense of 3 more children?

I don't like their language round those babies.
Today I bent over and aggravated my C Sec bruise. I muttered fuck under my breath about 10 times. Whilst holding my 2nd born. Someone call SS!!

SleepingStandingUp · 18/12/2019 14:59

us mothers must never use bad language around our babies oh I'm sure it's OK for MOTHERS assuming babe was born from thy womb

LolaLollypop · 18/12/2019 15:15

hifolks · 18/12/2019 18:01

I can't be bothered re watching it, but I thought their language was more suitable for down the pub than holding and caring for new borns. Poor little babies.

purpleme12 · 18/12/2019 18:10

Oh my god yeah the language night not be to everyone's taste etc but they're newborns by the time they get a bit older they'll probably be watching themselves more about what they say! I just think it's such a petty thing to pick up on!

SleepingStandingUp · 18/12/2019 18:24

@hifolks but that has northing to do with their relationship or sexual preferences. And it's not like they were calling their daughters fucking little shits etc like some of the heterosexual mothers I see on the bus

SmileyClare · 18/12/2019 18:55

I can't help think that some reactions on here to the surrogacy story would be very different if an infertile hetero couple were featured with a friend offering to carry their baby.

There's a real whiff of homophobia and some very close minded views on gay men being parents.

As for the sanctimonious suggestion that the men should spend their resources on those in need instead? That's absurd Grin

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 18/12/2019 19:30

I can't help think that some reactions on here to the surrogacy story would be very different if an infertile hetero couple were featured with a friend offering to carry their baby

I don't think so, I'm related to someone who turned down the offer of surrogacy from a friend and went on to adopt. They had exactly the same kind of concerns posters on this thread have brought up about surrogacy.

SmileyClare · 18/12/2019 19:44

MrsP there are ethical concerns over surrogacy I agree.

However, comments such as "two girls being raised by two men is wrong" "...It's a fact, it takes a woman and a man to make a baby ...It's not natural" and the nit picking over the men's parenting, the comments that babies are damaged by not being raised by a mother.. It's all so narrow minded and goes further than debating the issues around surrogacy.

It's the fact that two gay men are parenting.

stairway · 18/12/2019 20:56

It’s not about two men parenting. It’s the ethical concerns of using donor eggs and surrogates therefore denying the child a mother. We know children of sperm donors can have identity issues. Even children adopted still have a birth mother. They always try to provide that info to children so the children know where they come from. That’s children’s bio mother is in northern Cyprus. That’s a whole heritage they know nothing about.

stairway · 18/12/2019 21:00

I also have a problem with them choosing to have a twin pregnancy against medical advice, really unethical.

WireBrushAndDettolMaam · 18/12/2019 21:06

This is so funny with the dogs!! “It’s babies. Babies! Gentle- it’s babies” Grin

I think the fact it’s only 4 episodes makes it even weirder that the farmer family were only shown from half way through episode 3.

WireBrushAndDettolMaam · 18/12/2019 21:11

Why is Helen? Using a hiding apron in her own house!? Confused

WaterSheep · 18/12/2019 21:11

I'm feeling sorry for the grandparents of the family of 5, having to babysit when the children are so unsettled.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 18/12/2019 21:12

Why is Helen? Using a hiding apron in her own house! perhaps To shield Nigels parents- his dad could feel awkward

WireBrushAndDettolMaam · 18/12/2019 21:13

“Why would you not have another of these?”

Because we have 5 of those? Because they all cost money and energy and we are only two people with finite resources?

WireBrushAndDettolMaam · 18/12/2019 21:16

perhaps To shield Nigels parents- his dad could feel awkward

So put the apron over him? Grin

Seriously though, she was facing the other way. All they could see was the back of her head.

Boyo7 · 18/12/2019 21:17

Feels like all this 'should we have another' is what they have been told to talk about!
