Me and DH have been vegetarian for over 30 years. I am almost vegan as I don't have milk or yoghurt and very very little cheese but I do eat eggs. Only buy free range (usually from local people who have chickens running around their garden). I love eggs too much to give them up.

I never preach to anyone about eating meat but do think it would be great if more people cut down on their meat eating even if they do not go completely vegetarian. A couple of my youngish neighbours (20's and 30's) like to tell me they eat meat every day as though it is something to be proud of

Oat milk is great if you are in the U.K. and using British oats and making it yourself.

I have stopped buying red meat now. The only person in my house who really likes it is DS but he’s happy enough w chicken and fish. It’s from when I saw a graph of how bad beef production is for the environment. Watching this prog made my mind up more.
Much to DS’s disgust we mainly eat veggie or fish!

You can not compare the mass industrial scale marketing in the Americas, much of it for the Chinese market, with livestock farming in Britain. It would be hugely damaging for the British countryside and the economy to wipe out British agriculture because of a very one-sided programme like this.
