Just watching this as I have a bit of a thing for Paul Rudd. He's lovely, (of course), and Sienna Miller seems fab too. But WTF is up with Robert De Niro? He looks like he'd literally rather be anywhere else but there. He looked bored shitless when SM was talking about her new film. Or is he just a curmudgeon?

Funnily enough I’ve just read Graham Norton’s autobiography and he mentions de Niro as being notoriously monosyllabic in TV interviews.

EdWinchester · 12/10/2019 10:53

It was worth watching just for James Blunt (apart from the singing bit).

DH and I both realised we have no idea why Sienna Miller is famous. We decided it's because she once dated Jude Law.

1onelyranger · 12/10/2019 11:17

Yes, James Blunt was very engaging and personable!

wowfudge · 12/10/2019 11:21

He's called The Boss because when the band he was in was gigging, he dealt with the payments - the other band members would tell the venues to pay the boss, Springsteen.

Mookins14 · 12/10/2019 11:27

Bruce is a God. That's the long and short of it. And I'm not even a fan of his music!

I thought James Blunt was wonderful and the only one who didn't make Graham work hard.

I watched it with DH and ds and said that SM was being ignored. They disagreed. Hmm

I can't stand JB singing but he was very funny when talking. PR also tells a good story.

I wish they had let Bruce do a song

Mrsjayy · 12/10/2019 12:01

The sofa was too busy poor Sienna Miller didn't get a look in maybe GN needs to pare down his guests, saying that I love Bob he is dead pan and kinda miserable but i don't mind. I thought Bruce was a bit awkward and an oddbod but mesmerising .

Teddybear45 · 12/10/2019 12:12

I actually think he perked up when Sienna Miller mentioned she was playing a young grandmother. He definitely sat up. You need to remember that the GN show is heavily edited so there isn’t really any consistancy to what the non-talking guests are doing

Mrsjayy · 12/10/2019 12:16

Sienna's film looks good but i can't remember if it is on tv/netflix or in the cinema .

Goatrider · 12/10/2019 13:40

I would have liked the sofa to have just been SM PR and JB.

I think SM's film is going to be at the cinema. The other 2 are Netflix

CoolCarrie · 12/10/2019 16:46

Bruce is popular because he writes wonderful, clever, funny, grim, stormy songs, from creepy stuff like his Nebraska album, to upbeat albums like Greetings From Asbury Park, his concerts are truly brilliant, a honest performer who has a great body of work. He comes over as a bit shy, but charming. James Blunt is very funny, De Niro is always like that on chat shows, he was just the same the last time he was on, with Tom Hiddleston, god that was cringing, but I think he does have a sense of humour.

Mrsjayy · 12/10/2019 18:39

NonoTom hiddleston impersonating RDN infront of RDN was the cringiest thing I go a bit clammy thinking about it !

1onelyranger · 19/10/2019 08:50

Another odd one last night. I thought Schwarzenegger and Nadiya came across as completely lovely though.

Goatrider · 19/10/2019 11:12

They all seemed nice but I don't think they went well together.

Arnie, Linda and a comedian would have been better.

I think Nadiya needs to be on with British guests

1onelyranger · 19/10/2019 11:18

I think that hits the nail on the head.

TSSDNCOP · 19/10/2019 11:20

Oh god was it Bake Off Nadiya last night? I’ll swerve that one. Her voice goes right through me.

Mrsjayy · 19/10/2019 11:25

Not liking Nadiya is like hating puppiesGrin I said it last week too busy a couch I switched off

TSSDNCOP · 19/10/2019 11:30

I know Mrsjayy I struggle with the guilt for the entire time it takes me to switch her off. Her cakes look delish, but I just don’t need her voice and her rattling on about the size of her kerazy family.

Yes!😂😂😂

Mrsjayy · 19/10/2019 11:32

Tbf she has gone down the busy mum route which she didn't need to do.

TSSDNCOP · 19/10/2019 11:34

I think that’s it. Her baking is ace and I enjoy her enthusiasm and expertise. I just don’t need the backstory.
