Things I’ve watched and liked

Friends
The Big Bang theory
Fawlty towers
Only fools and horses
That 70’s show

Things I’ve watched and we’re ok

Cheers
Frasier

Things I’ve watched and disliked
Miranda
Not going out
3rd rock from the sun
How I met your mother

There’s probably things I’ve forgotten off all lists.

Any recommendations for a really enjoyable sitcom?

As Time Goes By (very classy, intelligent and gentle comedy)

I loved Mum! Very easy watching and funny

ImpeachTrump · 04/10/2019 15:49

I'm enjoying State of the Union. Each episode is only ten minutes long so you can watch the whole series in less than two hours!

Doyoureallyneedtoask · 04/10/2019 15:50

Why is everyone only recommending The Office (American). The (UK)Office is side solittingly funny.

Absolutely Fabulous is great too though it got weak in the final series.

Both very old though.

I watched another one about an English family who moved to Florida to run a trailer park. It was better than expected and although not brilliant/witty, it was watchable. I can’t temember the name of it though.

Cheers?

Derry Girls

sluj · 04/10/2019 15:52

Friday Night Dinner
The Detectorists (for a gentle feel)

BarkandCheese · 04/10/2019 15:56

Bobs Burgers, it’s animated but not out to shock or be deliberately offensive. The characters are mostly likeable oddballs and it’s very funny.

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 04/10/2019 20:13

Kath & Kim (very funny and clever Australiancomedy)

Don't even bother with the awful American version!!

360eyes · 04/10/2019 22:05

I also have to recommend Raised by Wolves. It's about a house full of homeschooled girls on a council estate with a very kick ass single mother. There are some great lines in it and it does sort of remind you of your teenage years. Sadly only two series of it though. Catastrophe is great for one liners and there is great chemistry and banter between the two main characters, but the humour is a bit darker.

I also recommend Detectorists and This Country, but they are a bit different to what you have listed. They laughs are more character driven than witty one liners, but they are quite funny in their own way. Detectorists is just a nice gentle programme to watch regardless.

In the Long Run with Idris Elba - the second series is just about to start.

MargotLovedTom1 · 05/10/2019 08:25
