Does anyone watch this?
Poor bear he was sent back again. He seemed such a lovely dog.
The family who adopted Bailey were so good with him

Yes, I saw it. Was really surprised Bear's family gave him back. I expect he just needed a bit of training with a good behaviourist advising. He was probably mistakenly protecting his new family from the cats or didn't want to share them. Hope he has a lovely new owner now! Was glad Bailey was wanted.

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 13/09/2019 13:31

Nobby looked a proper little character, loved him.
It was a Shame about Bear, the daughter seemed so sad bless her, hope they find another dog to join their family.

Everythingmagnolia · 13/09/2019 13:35

Love this show!

Bamaluz · 13/09/2019 14:56

I love this too, but my DD just adopted a dog and it was nothing like the process on the programme at all, totally different than we had expected.

And now we're slowly getting the dog used to my cat when they visit, not expecting them to get along straight away, poor Bear.

LochJessMonster · 13/09/2019 15:00

I work at WG, I'm glad you all like the show!

Bear has since been rehomed Smile

Everythingmagnolia · 13/09/2019 15:04

That is great news, I am so pleased for Bear!

Are you featured in the show?

My DD wants to work with dogs when she is older Smile

LochJessMonster · 13/09/2019 15:13

Are you featured in the show? Yes Blush
I am so so proud of everyone and I'm glad the show is getting good feedback. I'm happy our staffies are showing their true lovable colours.

Hiredandsqueak · 13/09/2019 15:23

It's a lovely show, so lovely to see the dogs. Bear was gorgeous and Nobby seemed such a character and so right for them and Bailey found his perfect family. Dd and I cried at the first episode seeing the dogs so sad when they were relinquished. Never thought about our own rescue being sad tbh, she had had an awful life and she just seemed delighted to be moving in.

mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork · 14/09/2019 16:51

Yes, I'm delighted staffies are getting good coverage in this programme - I have one, of course! Actually, I really expected the head of the family that were viewing Bailey to give his veto to their adopting him (after he had been licked nearly to death). I am glad he was a secret softy too. I wanted to be there to say to them, "Yes, he is bouncy but it is because he is unsettled with being in rescue and meeting new people - take him home and he'll settle down and be relaxed and quiet once after a few weeks - just give him a chance". Luckily, they did and good for them. I was sorry to see that Mozart (from first episode) was still not rehomed when I looked on the WG website a few days ago.

purpleme12 · 15/09/2019 01:09

It is a shame he came back but I actually think at least I could understand this reason rather than the load of crappy reasons dogs are rehomed. They were told the dog want bothered about cats and it was the total opposite. You always have to think about your first pet first (and there are some people in that situation who would have rehomed the cats unfortunately).

I think they do this process like this for the tele. I'm not sure it's exactly like this in real life. I think it's set up on purpose for this programme.

Bear was so cute though. I want to see some big dogs

mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork · 15/09/2019 14:34

Yes, perhaps time to see a greyhound or lurcher getting a home or maybe a rottie (as people always seem to think they are going to be aggressive though every one I have met has been a complete teddy bear).

purpleme12 · 15/09/2019 16:26

Or German shepherds huskies labradors etc

LochJessMonster · 16/09/2019 11:52

@mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork
@purpleme12
Stayed tuned! There's an episode dedicated to the care and rehoming of an ex hare-coursing lurcher

CSIblonde · 16/09/2019 18:48

Bear was found not to need surgery on his leg, so I think ethically & morally, they should have rung his owner & told her as she only gave him up due to surgery costs advised by a separate, previous vet. She could have given a donation she could afford & taken him back.

purpleme12 · 16/09/2019 20:37

Oh I didn't think of that but I agree
So upsetting when she cried

Llamalovestheweekend · 19/09/2019 21:23

The German shepherds were beautiful and the family who took one and called him Forest were amazing!

purpleme12 · 19/09/2019 21:34

Oh my god I haven't seen today's but I love German shepherds!

But what if he needs Vet Care in the future ? When he's older , riskier , more expensive? What would the owner's option be if she did manage to reclaim him?

GlitchStitch · 20/09/2019 08:56

I love this show, cry every week! The woman who took the staffie last night was so lovely, had me in tears. Loved the family who took the puppy too, especially the eldest lad. I want a dog!

LochJessMonster · 20/09/2019 10:17

Last nights was my favourite episode so far!
Love that Casper got such a great home, they are currently travelling round Europe together!

mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork · 20/09/2019 19:05

I was worried when they were selecting the ideal GSD puppy from the batch - I was afraid they would get the black one and I really liked the one that the older boy had his eye on. Glad they got it. It was so laid back for a puppy. Nice family.

narcissistseverywhere · 20/09/2019 23:40

I don't understand why they returned Bear, I rescued a dog and it took at least three months for her and the cats to get used to each other. (she chased them to begin with) It certainly didn't happen over night. Loving the staffies, I might get one next time

salsmum · 21/09/2019 01:49

I soooo love this show and just want it to run and run. As an owner of two staffers who sadly both passed through cancer aged 14 and 16 I'm so glad that they are getting the screen time to show what a truly amazing breed they are ❤️ we always have rescues they are my favourite breed😉 I hope Wood Green keep the garden set up I think it's a great area to meet your new rescue in.

Lunaballoon · 21/09/2019 18:30

Caitlin Moran wrote a lovely article on The Dog House in today’s Times.

They alchemise in a second from “problem” to “small household god.” A lonely, good-hearted thing being wanted is a salve to the soul.

So true

Everythingmagnolia · 21/09/2019 20:27

That's lovely!
